I had to replace the drive shaft and the lower agitator. The motor coupling was also worn out. The repair was challenging because I had to rebuild the gear box. This step was really messy and I had to wait for the liquid gasket to set prior to completing the repair. Cleaning and prep of all of the parts tripled the repair time. Read more

I started with the suspension pad kit and the tub suspension pads. I do have to say if you have an older model washer (mine is approx 17 years old) be prepared to let the inner tub sit in penetrating oil for a few days before attempting to take the tub out. I was able to get to this point on my own and then it wouldn't budge. My husband ended up buying some direct drive tool (it was pretty cool) and was able to break the tub free after two days. Yay! My parents have the older 80 series washer and dryer that gets used way more than a consumer washer and dryer was ever meant to be used. The washing machine finally said im tired. Unscrewed console and tilted it back. Then removed clips for machine skin. Rocked it back slightly to access the tub side hose. Removed water inlet valve assembly and removed from the valve. Fished out the old hose. Fished in new hose. Reattched it then reassembled unit. Spent 15 min looking for clip I lost on NASTY FLOOR AAAAAARGH!
