Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Displayed e1 error code the root cause was the sensor (thermistor) that got ripped off of the roof of the freezer   Jon S. • Tuscarora , MD • February 21, 2015

Since I could not find the correct thermistor from the schematic provided, I ordered the thermistor harness for the evaporator. I cut the harness and spliced it to the sheared thermistor wires on the roof of the freezer compartment. It now works fine with a little "farmer ingenuity" help. Samsung was absolutely no help at all, but the guy that I spoke with over the phone at APP sure was. This site is now my "go to" for appliance parts! Tip for others with this model. Do not overfill the upper... Read more

I took all the items out of the refrigerator. Removed the screws that hold the cover over the evaporator motor. Than for three hours used a hair drier to remove ice. The panel was frozen on if you pull on it it will break. Soaked up all the water removed the panel and took the fan blade off. That was difficult because it looks like a regular screw head however, you need to push in that which will cause it to release the blades and than push it onto the new motor. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice maker in freezer was overfilling   James C. • Cary , NC • September 02, 2019

I started by replacing the water filter assembly since it was leaking after I attempted to install a non-name-brand filter. The new assembly didn't fix the problem (but was hard to find, and AppliancePartsPros was amazing in being able to get one). Further, while replacing that I noticed that the previous owner had literally cut out the grounding pin from the power cord. I decided to replace the power cord and the Ice Maker Assembly. None of the online stores seemed to have either part listed... Read more

If your fridge isn't cooling or has ice buildup around the evaporator fan, this cover assembly may solve it. Includes fan motor and insulation.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I was hearing the constant sound of defrosting from my french door samsung refrigerator and read online that it was probably icing up   William S. • Virginia Beach , VA • October 09, 2015

I bought the defrost-clip (clip-drain-evap), but once I took the refrigerator apart--the large plastic "back" had frozen to the rest and left the insulation in pieces when I tried to pull it apart. I was able to replace the clip-drain-evap piece with little trouble once the ice had melted, but I was unhappy with the looks of the "back". So I ended up ordering a new "back"(Yassy cover-evap) that included the new insulation as it's made in one unit. Once it arrived, replacing the new "back"... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The refrigerator was building up ice on the evaporator to the point that it was interfering with the cooling fan   Louis R. • Corpus Christi , TX • May 14, 2016

I replaced the temperature sensor, the thermo fuse, and the heating element that thaws the evaporator on a cycle to keep the evaporator from freezing up. The most time consuming part of the repair was waiting for the fridge to thaw out so that I could remove the cover. I disconnected the fridge the night before and placed a fan on low with the doors open so that it was thawed out when I awoke. It was easy to remove the evaporator cover once I removed all of the shelves. I took pics as i was... Read more

By: Samsung
Part Number: DA61-01920A

Replacement axle pin for refrigerator front caster wheels. Installs through wheel assembly to secure rolling casters. Needed when bent, broken, or worn.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Original casters for samsung fridge were flattened out from weight not from sliding sideways   Yitz G. • Phoenix , AZ • November 27, 2017

Samsung does not make it easy to replace the casters. The shafts holding the casters are crimped at the ends and had to be cut off with little room for any tools. I had to jack up the fridge and I used a hacksaw blade with a handle to cut through the wheel shafts. I didn't want to use a reciprocating saw. I couldn't find a way to crimp the new shafts so I drilled small holes at the ends and used cotter pins to retain the shafts in place. The rear caster had no room to slide the new one in... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer would not start.   John K. • Lawrenceville , GA • November 03, 2017

The start button had been tricky to use. You had to push it in just a certain way to get the dryer to start. Eventually it was non-responsive. All other controls worked and there was no error code displayed. The repair was to replace the whole control board which cost around $100. Heavy sigh.. Be sure to keep track of all your screws. BTW it was not the thermal fuse. All the online videos say this is the first thing to look for when the dryer will not start. Be sure to check with the person... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Plastic arm that allows ice to fall on samsung rf256abbm   Jennifer S. • King George , VA • October 20, 2015

Didn't know what to call the part - got on chat one evening and the wonderful customer service rep knew exactly how to direct me - and even ordered the part for me! It arrives 2 days later - and we fixed our problem! Seems like breaking the plastic arm when the ice sensor starts to fall down happens rather often - 2nd time we have replaced it - but the fix is easy. Wish there was a permanent fix for the ice sensor - I don't think we have the problem solved just yet - but the plastic arm... Read more
