Ice maker stopped working or making loud popping sounds? This assembly restores ice production. DIY-friendly repair—just unscrew, unplug, and swap.
Since I could not find the correct thermistor from the schematic provided, I ordered the thermistor harness for the evaporator. I cut the harness and spliced it to the sheared thermistor wires on the roof of the freezer compartment. It now works fine with a little "farmer ingenuity" help. Samsung was absolutely no help at all, but the guy that I spoke with over the phone at APP sure was. This site is now my "go to" for appliance parts! Tip for others with this model. Do not overfill the upper... Read more
Fix warm fridge temps and ice buildup with this evaporator fan motor. Common when fan makes grinding noise or stops running. DIY repair in 2-3 hours.
I took all the items out of the refrigerator. Removed the screws that hold the cover over the evaporator motor. Than for three hours used a hair drier to remove ice. The panel was frozen on if you pull on it it will break. Soaked up all the water removed the panel and took the fan blade off. That was difficult because it looks like a regular screw head however, you need to push in that which will cause it to release the blades and than push it onto the new motor. Than replace the panel put the... Read more
Refrigerator compressor won't start after power surge? This overload protector prevents electrical damage to your compressor. DIY repair in 30 minutes.
Took a bit to diagnose. First tried cleaning coils but the problem still persisted. Next took of the back panel and put the system into diag mode. (Press energy save button and fridge button for eight seconds system ding once a second and inverter board red LED will blink a code or be on solid if no issue. See back of the refrigerator for a sticker with what the number of blinks means. My unit one blinking 1 time. So I measured the resistance of the compressor between windings (8.9 ohms between... Refrigerator not cooling or making noise? A failed fan motor stops airflow, causing warm temps and ice buildup. Moderate DIY repair with multimeter testing.
Ordered the two motors plus ordered the fan blades since I was afraid one might break during replacement. Changed out without breaking Freezer and both ice makers now working fine Read more
If your refrigerator runs hot, makes squealing noises, or isn't cooling properly, the condenser fan motor may have failed. DIY repair in 15 minutes.
I bought new parts, motor and fan. Replace the old one. Took me no more than 15 minutes to fix it. Read more
Connects your refrigerator to the wall outlet. Replace if the cord is severed, the plug prongs are broken, or the ground terminal is damaged or missing.
I started by replacing the water filter assembly since it was leaking after I attempted to install a non-name-brand filter. The new assembly didn't fix the problem (but was hard to find, and AppliancePartsPros was amazing in being able to get one). Further, while replacing that I noticed that the previous owner had literally cut out the grounding pin from the power cord. I decided to replace the power cord and the Ice Maker Assembly. None of the online stores seemed to have either part listed... Read more
Fix frost buildup and cooling issues in your refrigerator. This defrost heater melts ice on evaporator coils to restore proper temperature control.
Knowing from a previous repair, that there was only 3 parts that could be bad. I decided if I was going to take it apart to change all 3. Not having the proper test equipment, it was cheaper to replace the 3 parts than pay a repair person. Read more
If your fridge isn't cooling or has ice buildup around the evaporator fan, this cover assembly may solve it. Includes fan motor and insulation.
I bought the defrost-clip (clip-drain-evap), but once I took the refrigerator apart--the large plastic "back" had frozen to the rest and left the insulation in pieces when I tried to pull it apart. I was able to replace the clip-drain-evap piece with little trouble once the ice had melted, but I was unhappy with the looks of the "back". So I ended up ordering a new "back"(Yassy cover-evap) that included the new insulation as it's made in one unit. Once it arrived, replacing the new "back"... Read more
Stops ice buildup on evaporator coils? Thermal fuse prevents defrost issues when blown. Test for continuity with multimeter. DIY-friendly repair.
I replaced the temperature sensor, the thermo fuse, and the heating element that thaws the evaporator on a cycle to keep the evaporator from freezing up. The most time consuming part of the repair was waiting for the fridge to thaw out so that I could remove the cover. I disconnected the fridge the night before and placed a fan on low with the doors open so that it was thawed out when I awoke. It was easy to remove the evaporator cover once I removed all of the shelves. I took pics as i was... Read more
Ice maker overflowing or not making ice? A faulty water inlet valve often causes these issues. Easy 5-minute DIY repair saves hundreds on service calls.
Verified that the water line had flowing water, check. Removed lower screen and vacuumed and cleaned all dust. Proceeded to test water flow to the valve and beyond the valve. The valve did not allow water to pass through it. Nor would it open or close. Went to Marbeck for confirmation and was sent to your website for the part. Read more
Refrigerator freezing up or not cold enough? The temperature sensor monitors internal temps to prevent freezing. DIY-friendly repair, 30-45 minutes.
Replacement axle pin for refrigerator front caster wheels. Installs through wheel assembly to secure rolling casters. Needed when bent, broken, or worn.
Samsung does not make it easy to replace the casters. The shafts holding the casters are crimped at the ends and had to be cut off with little room for any tools. I had to jack up the fridge and I used a hacksaw blade with a handle to cut through the wheel shafts. I didn't want to use a reciprocating saw. I couldn't find a way to crimp the new shafts so I drilled small holes at the ends and used cotter pins to retain the shafts in place. The rear caster had no room to slide the new one in... Read more
Self-tapping screw for dishwashers, dryers, refrigerators, and washers. Replace missing, stripped, or damaged screws for secure panel and component mounting.
The start button had been tricky to use. You had to push it in just a certain way to get the dryer to start. Eventually it was non-responsive. All other controls worked and there was no error code displayed. The repair was to replace the whole control board which cost around $100. Heavy sigh.. Be sure to keep track of all your screws. BTW it was not the thermal fuse. All the online videos say this is the first thing to look for when the dryer will not start. Be sure to check with the person... Read more
Ice maker not dispensing or spilling ice? This ice guide assembly directs ice cubes properly. Easy 5-10 minute DIY fix with basic tools required.
Didn't know what to call the part - got on chat one evening and the wonderful customer service rep knew exactly how to direct me - and even ordered the part for me! It arrives 2 days later - and we fixed our problem! Seems like breaking the plastic arm when the ice sensor starts to fall down happens rather often - 2nd time we have replaced it - but the fix is easy. Wish there was a permanent fix for the ice sensor - I don't think we have the problem solved just yet - but the plastic arm... Read more
Replaces broken or missing spring on French door refrigerator left door flapper assembly. Ensures flapper retracts properly when door closes for tight seal.
Removed refrigerator panel, disconnected light and fan power. Removed fan assembly and replaced motor, grommets and fan attachment spring. Unit had adhesive on spring to help hold the spring. Chatted with customer service and clarified that spring and fan would easily pull off motor shaft. Adhesive probably was extra measure used during original build of the fridge. Noise was due to fan rubbing on housing. New fan position set to avoid any rubbing. Read more
Rubber grommet that secures and cushions the evaporator or condenser fan motor in your refrigerator. Replace if cracked, worn, or missing to stop vibration.
