Went to appliance parts pros and typed in the problem, and they had a video on that problem and how to fix it, easy fix, ordered the part, had it 2 days later, took my washer apart while I was waiting for the part to come, and then reviewed the video several times, and then completed my repair, probably saved 150-200 dollars by doing it myself, also had my dryer conk out last year, did the same thing, looked up the problem, ordered the part, and made the repair, the pair is 20 years old, parts... I looked on the internet for similar descriptions for similar models and found many angry reports. Most said that the rotor assembly was bad as the nut that held the rotor and other parts together had loosened and allowed slippage between steel and plastic splines. Yes, I know that sounds like trouble, but apparently not to LG when they designed it. Most buyers complained that the part was covered by warrantee but not the labor and labor had been quoted as $400 to $600 dollars. Time to buy... Read more

Replaced the motor with a new one, if I can offer any advice about doing this job, make sure to keep track of where each wire goes on the motor and whatever wires need to be disconnected. Ordered a new Fan motor after referencing Model Number. Part was delivered in a timely matter. Unplugged Refrigerator from wall. Used a socket to remove bolts from. Cardboard access cover and also to remove Fan bracket to remove old fan and unclipped connector. Fan Blade and the two rubber grommets I reused on new replacement motor. I googled the issue and read several articles. Most started with cleaning the coils (which mine are on the bottom) (19yr old Kenmore 363.9557812). I bought the defrost-clip (clip-drain-evap), but once I took the refrigerator apart--the large plastic "back" had frozen to the rest and left the insulation in pieces when I tried to pull it apart. I was able to replace the clip-drain-evap piece with little trouble once the ice had melted, but I was unhappy with the looks of the "back".
