Tiffany March 02, 2021 Hello, I have a whirlpool cabrio platinum washer. It has been throwing the code F51. I have been able to do really small loads and them going completely thru the cycle with no code flashing, but other loads will not complete. I’m not sure what to do my husband and I replaced the RPS sensor piece and we took the tub out to look for lodged clothing but neither of those seemed to fix the problem. I really don’t want to get rid of the washer but I’m getting to that point. I just don’t understand why it will spin and wring the clothes out on some loads and not the others? Thanks!
1 Answer Tiffany, To be able to assist with your question we will need to have the model number of your washer. Please resent the question with the model number. Read More...
Steve January 30, 2021 for Model Number WM2487HWMA Hi I believe I need a new rotor for my LG FRONT LOADER. TOOK OFF BACK AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS TILTED. I removed rotor but I don’t know if it should be tilted NOT STRAIGHT. I DID STOP IT IN MID SPINNING BECAUSE IT WAS GRINDING. THANK YOU FOR YOU TIME
1 Answer Steve, the rotor shouldn't be "tilted", you may want to check the interior of the rotor and look for any cracks or grooves worn into the magnets and casing. Check the stator for the same damage and grooves. When you removed the rotor assembly, were there any metal shavings or powder in the housing? It sounds more like a worn-out tub bearing, how long has the washer been making noise? Read More...

Jeff November 19, 2020 for Model Number wm2010cw I have an LG front load washer wm2010cw with a direct drive. It spins by hand smoothly with no issues. When I go into self diagnostics and try to spin the drum, it engages (you hear thee motor) and the rotor turn a 1/2” and stops. No error code. If I spin the rotor by hand and then start a spin diagnosis it spins no problem. I replaced the rotar because I thought maybe the issue with a worn out sprocket, but it still happening. Could it be a clutch issue or bearing?
1 Answer Hello Jeff, this sounds like the motor's (3 winding) stator is not able to power the rotor up correctly, you will need to access the motor stator and check for any loose wiring connections, using a multimeter ohm out the 3 motor windings , about 5-15 ohms between any 2 of the 3 motor winding terminals, if all ok then trace the wiring back to the control board for any problems, lastly, if all check ok then main control board EBR43249701 may be faulty. Anthony October 22, 2020 for Model Number WMA8000 This front load LG washer in fairly new 9/2015. Received a LE error while washing. Unplugged and reset and started with same error with tub empty now. Pulled the rotor off to check spline, this unit has a metal female spline in rotor and it looked perfect. No appearance of any damage or leaking from bearing. The unit attempts to spin, but make a clunking noise, from spline area, then stops, and the LE error appears. After reading your post, I plan on double checking the magnets closely for any cracks, if they look good, not sure what the next step should be. I was planning on replacing the hall sensor, but the clunking sound makes, me believe it a physical issue. Can you please advise what steps, I should take.. Thanks in advance.
1 Answer Anthony, based on the information provided, it sounds like the clunking noise is coming from the spin basket shifting inside of the outer tub. If the spin basket can wiggle around independently, or have play, in the outer tub then there is a spider shaft failure. However, if the full model number of your appliance could be provided in a new question, this will allow for the most accurate information to be presented. Read More...
Christopher October 11, 2020 for Model Number Wm2277hw I just replaced the bearing on my lg tromm from load washer. When I spin the drum it is as smooth as can be. Once I installed the rotor cover over the magnetic coil pack, it started to make a grinding noise when the drum spins to the right. I removed it to spin the drum and there is no noise. I noticed that there is a small broken piece of magnet that came off of the rotor cover. Can this be the cause of the issue? It caused my washer to have a ue code.
1 Answer Christopher, the rotor AHL72914402 having a damaged magnet can cause the error code UE as it would not be able to operate properly. Read More...
Cole August 11, 2020 I have a kenmore front load wash machine, the rotor hub is stripped out. Should I just replace the hub or should I replace the whole rotor assembly?
Ricobandito June 12, 2020 for Model Number Samsung WF218ANW/XAA-01 This front load Samsung started making a squeaking noise during the spin and finally has stopped spinning with a load in and and doing an erratic, shaky spin when empty. This model has a rotor/stator not a belt so I do not know what is squeaking. What is causing it to squeak and spin erratically?
1 Answer Hello Rico, this sounds like there may be a spin bearing or drum shaft problem, the control board would interpret this as an unbalance load and try to rebalance the load. Try to turn the inner tub by hand and check if there is any resistance turning it. Read More...
Jo May 04, 2020 for Model Number WM2701HV I replaced the rotor assembly because my washer wouldn't spin and it was making a loud noise Once I had completed that it now turns on and will not spin at all still loud noise. I was thinking might be the bearing or drum?
1 Answer Jo The noise could be coming from a broke spider 4434ER0002H or the tub bearing could be the fault. The only way to diagnose the spider is to disassemble the unit and visually check. Read More...
Richard March 28, 2020 for Model Number wm 2501HVA The hub on the rotor was completely stripped out. I replaced that, just the hub. Not it goes but every now and then the magnets clang into the coils. There is no damage to the magnets or the coils and while it is spinning the rotor seems to run smooth. The hub should be designed to wear out before the spline but there seems to be a little wiggle when tightened on. The washer is 14 years old.
1 Answer Hello Richard, the symptom and your description indicate the rear outer tub spin bearings are worn allowing enough play for the direct drive motor to have contact between the stator and rotor. The spin bearings are 4280EN4001C and MAP61913707, the shaft water seal is 4036ER2004A. Read More...
