Trent March 20, 2020 for Model Number Wm2801hra I'm trying to replace the rotor sensor on the starter. I've removed the 17 mil bolt, but can't get the rotor to budge!! I've had it off a couple of times before to replace the tub bearings, and had no problem then!! I don't really want to pry it off if I don't have too!! Any ideas??? Thanks, Trent
1 Answer Trent, if the shaft that the rotor attaches to had any burs, this can cause the rotor to seize onto the shaft. Usually wiggling the rotor on opposite sides can help to remove the rotor. Prying the rotor off is not recommended as the magnetic plates can be damaged. Read More...
Parth February 28, 2020 for Model Number Samsung Eco bubble (Front loader) Hello - when i start my machine the motor is rotating but the drum of the machine does not rotating can you please guide me what is the problem in the machine. because i check it there is no belt in the machine its a rotor in that so can you please help me to solved it out that what is the problem in that. Thank you.
1 Answer Parth, We will need your model number to help you find the right parts for your unit. Please post another question with all your info included thank you. Read More...
Robert December 28, 2019 for Model Number LG Tromm I have a front-load LG trom. It will run full cycle when empty but displays an LE code with even a small load in. It makes a loud groaning noise then goes to LE. I've replaced the RPS and it still locks out.
1 Answer Robert, if the model number of your appliance could be provided in a new inquiry, this will allow for the most accurate information to be presented. Read More...
Jayme K. December 14, 2019 for Model Number WM2077CW What is the best way to clean the rotor hub and strator? I’m replacing the tub bearings and noticed a brown film build up on the hub and strator.
1 Answer Jayme, The most important part of the repair is to remember, not to drop the rotor, or dislodge the magnets that encompass the internal casing. Use a clean rag or air compressor to clean the residue from both the stator and rotor Carefully. If you use a cleaning/lubricating solution like WD40, automotive parts cleaner, etc. these will usually produce an odor after the repair, but it should subside with time and usage. Read More...
Mariola September 14, 2019 for Model Number Washer LG WM2701HV Hi! For about 2 weeks I have been struggling with the usual washing machine repair. technicians (there were two of them) after 6 visits were still unable to repair. the problem is still not turning the drum and a strange sound ( grinding noises) So far, they have "exchanged" the rotor assembly and the screw that supports the entire rotor. After installation, everything worked until the second washing ... after ... the problem repeated ... my husband, after thinking, decided to look in person and we noticed that the Rotor part inside teeth of the outer one, which in the middle of the rotor is completely worn out ... is it possible after one use?... or they used old parts?Thank You!
1 Answer Mariola, It is highly unlikely that after one use the teeth are that worn. It is possible that the bolt holding the rotor in place had previously backed off and damaged the teeth. You really need to make sure that the teeth on the shaft are not damaged also as that would mean you would need to replace the spider assembly. If that bolt has backed off again and thats what is causing the noise, by all means, feel free to use some blue Loctite. Also reach inside the unit and make sure the drum spins freely by hand. Mark January 21, 2019 for Model Number WM0742HWA Hi, my lg top loader was not spinning on any cycle but just making minute movements jerking when normally would be starting to spin. When I removed the rotor to make tests on the position sensor I noticed that about a third of the magnets had lost their adhesion. This was obvious as the depth of their position varied. I pulled all the magnets from the rotor, cleaned the entire surface that the magnets were attached including the backs of each magnet.I then used super glue to reset each magnet to it's original position with precise spacing between them all, as with their position in depth. I tested the stator with perfect resistance on each of the three legs. I replaced the position sensor with a new one. My question is , could I have reset the magnets with improper polarity alignment? I only considered the polarity being north /south on the sides which faced the stator windings and the side adhered to the rotor surface with out thinking of the longitudinal axis. I am wondering because the washer has the same problem with the "LE" code? thank you
1 Answer Mark, the damaged magnets can certainly cause problems for your unit. You will definitely want to change out the rotor 4413ER1003A and possibly the stator [4417EA1002H]. Read More...
Eric December 16, 2018 for Model Number WM2487HRMA The tub will move on the wash cycle when running the diagnostic, but the tub won't move when it gets to the spin cycle. Was thinking it is a stripped out rotor, but if the tub does rotate during the wash cycle, then it can't be a bad rotor?
1 Answer Eric, If the unit will work normally in the diagnostics but not during the cycle then this will most likely be an issue with the main control board of the unit. Read More...
Tomb October 02, 2018 for Model Number WM2032HW Started getting LE code, replaced hall sensor. Later more LE code, loud clunking sound during spin when unbalanced load. Jerking upon spin, intermittent lock up as if electrical pulses. Tested the bearings, had some play, replaced rear half outer tub w/ bearings included. Replaced corroded spider. Inner tub spins freely and quietly, until spin cycle with unbalance. Watching rotor, loud clunking, rotor jerking, instantaneous freezing up during spinning. Rotor looks good,no loose magnets, spline looks good, stator looks good, no signs of overheating or rubbing anywhere. Wiggled wiring harness at motor during operation does not affect anything. During one instance, spin came to a normal stop after another episode, started to turn on water fill, on and off repeatedly. Strange behavior. I need to test ohms yet. Any ideas? Thank you for your input
1 Answer Tom, Inside the unit you will find a tech sheet that will have information on test to perform when getting an LE error code. Check the wiring between the stator and RPS sensor to the control board to make sure that there is no damaged wiring. Follow the steps for testing on the tech sheet and if all test pass then the control board would be the most likely cause for this issue. Read More...
Upset September 28, 2018 for Model Number WT1101CW I have replaced tub bearings and clutch plus the washer tub support but it is still making a horrible grinding noise any help would be great
1 Answer Upset, Enter the rear of the washer and remove the cover. Your drain pump is located to the right against the back wall. Start a spin only cycle and make sure that drain pump is not the problem. If the suspected noise comes from the pump you can remove the pump and check for foreign objects. When reinstalling I believe the water hoses are glued with an adhesive since their clamps are not very strong. Read More...
Russ July 12, 2018 For an LG WM2688HWM, is the gear assembly available without buying the entire rotor assembly? There's nothing wrong with the rotor, the gears are stripped on the plastic part.
1 Answer Russ, Unfortunately with the plastic piece being stripped out then this would require the rotor to be replaced. Read More...
