Dan H June 12, 2016 for Model Number wm0642hw The plastic piece on the rotor that slides over the spline on the shaft is worn out and needs to be replaced. This part is attached to the rotor with 3 hex head bolts and is very easy to replace. Can I order this part separately from the rotor?
Jeff S. May 08, 2016 for Model Number wm8000hwa On the rotor assembly there is a white plastic spline that knocks when motor reverses direction. I tightened the the bolt to it and the noise is not at bad but you can still hear it some what. Has LG come out with a metal spindel attached to the rotor instead of a plastic one. The noise is more noticeable when large loads are applied, such as towels. 2nd question, my washer says it a steam washer but when I took off the top to the washer I did not see a steam generator inside. How is this a steam washer without the steam generator?
1 Answer Hello Jeff, You will need to replace the rotor AHL72914402 if the center is loose. I'm sorry but this is the only design the manufacturer has made for this unit. Read More...
Carl M. August 18, 2015 for Model Number WM2277HB Replaced the main pcb control board but still not getting proper voltage to rotor. What would cause this?
1 Answer Hello Carl. You will need to check the wiring harness on the unit. Also, make sure the main board is getting the proper voltage. If not the filter board may be bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Denise August 05, 2015 for Model Number LG Direct Drive WM2101HW Washer was not spinning, when we removed the back panel we noticed the bolt in middle of rotor was loose. I took off the bolt and saw shavings on the bolt. My question is what parts need to be looked at in order to make correction? How can you determine if the bearings are bad? Could this also be part of the problem?
1 Answer Hello Denise. Make sure the shaft of the spider is not bad and the threads are not stripped out inside the shaft. If it is good, you will just need to replace the bolt 4040FR4051C for the rotor. Read More...
Jim July 01, 2015 for Model Number WM2077CW LG Tromm front loader....can't get rotor off spline as it is seized on....any tricks?
1 Answer Hello Jim. Make sure the nut is unscrewed all the way and pull hard. The magnets hold it onto the shaft. Read More...
Jgk June 10, 2015 for Model Number LG WM0642HW Our washer recently stopped spinning and when we removed the back panel, the rotor bolt was very loose and the entry point of the bolt was fairly worn as well. We added loctite and returned the bolt and tightened. The washer is working now, but not sure for how long. Is a new rotor bolt included with a new rotor when ordered? Is it possible to just order the bolt or better to replace as it appears worn. Just trying to be pro-active.
Murray October 01, 2014 for Model Number LG WM1832CW I was having increasingly frequent spin problems until one day a loud grinding noise came from the rear of the machine. I removed the access cover and discovered the spline on the nylon hub of the Rotor assy was stripped. I ordered a new Rotor Assy and Hall sensor. Received the parts, installed them, however now I have Rotor lock. I've checked the resistance of the Stator, it appears to be within specs. Ive checked the power connection to the Stator, and there is voltage , however Im not sure of the correct values. I've removed and re-assembled the new components a couple of times, but I still get rotor lock. I've turned the drum by hand, so I know its not seized. Do you have any suggestions. Thank you for your time.
1 Answer Murray, If getting an LE error code you will want to check the flowing. • The connector (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS is not connected to the connector (3-pin, female, white) of STATOR ASSEMBLY. • The electric contact between the connectors (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS and 4-pin, female, white connector in the MAIN PWB ASSEMBLY is bad or unstable. • The MOTOR HARNESS between the STATOR ASSEMBLY and MAIN PWB ASSEMBLY is cut (open circuited). • The hall sensor is out of order/defective Read More...
Chris September 26, 2014 for Model Number WM0642HW Machine was making terrible noises. I took back cover off and I tightened the bolt on the rotor cover and ran one cycle. It started grinding again. Is it because the plastic is stripped out? Is that reason the bolt came loose? When I put the new rotor on, how tight do I need to get the bolt? Thank you
1 Answer Chris, If the rotor is stripped out, to reinstall the screw you would want to put a little bit of Loctite on the threading of the screw which will allow it to seat and help keep it in place. Read More...
