Brett January 31, 2017 for Model Number Wm2487hwm My washer will not turn on, it's plugged into a good outlet . I tried to reset the machine, but nothing happens at all. Any ideas? It had been giving us the error code le, then I changed the rear bearings and now nothing at all. I am thinking that the stator and motor may be bad.?
1 Answer Hello Brett. You will need to go back and check for loose or bad wire connections from replacing the bearings in the unit. Read More...
James January 03, 2017 for Model Number WM3470HVA I keep on getting an LE error typically happens on normal load mode and usually happens at the end of the cycle during spin. What would you suggest? It happened a while ago but now happens a lot more frequently... thx James
1 Answer James, The LE error is Locked motor error. • The connector (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS is not connected to the connector (3-pin, female, white) of STATOR ASSEMBLY. • The electric contact between the connectors (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS and 4-pin, female, white connector in the MAIN PWB ASSEMBLY is bad or unstable. • The MOTOR HARNESS between the STATOR ASSEMBLY and MAIN PWB ASSEMBLY is cut (open circuited). • The hall sensor is out of order/defective. Jason T November 30, 2016 for Model Number LG washer Hello, I hope you can help me. I have the dreaded LE error and I,ve tried practically everything. I restarted the machine, it will fill up with water then trigger the LE again once it's time to spin. I replaced the sensor twice and the bottom and top section of the wire harness. Occasionally, it will work for a few loads again but then sure as anything the LE comes back to haunt me. Do you think it could be something with the connection on the stator assembly? Hopefully the main board doesn't need replacing because they don't make it anymore. Thank you, Jason
1 Answer Hello Jason. You will need to replace the rotor and stator and if the issue continues after that, then the board will need to be replaced. Read More...
Rick November 01, 2016 for Model Number WM2301HR My LG front loader decided not to spin out the clothes completely. I was getting a bit of noise so I replaced the bearings inner and outer. After putting back together it spun a bit then quit spinning. I found the splines in the rotor were sheared down. I replaced the rotor and fired it up. I still get a slow spin and a noise that you would think indicates a rubbing somewhere. I can find no rubbing anywhere at all. At the start I checked the stator and got 0 to .9 reading on 200k scale. I think this is good? I'm beginning to wonder if I have a bad stator. The noise I get almost reminds me of a solenoid type slamming in and out noise. Any help? Thanks
1 Answer Rick, If there was wear on the rotor then it is likely that the stator also would need to be replaced as it has most likely been damaged. Read More...
Jb May 18, 2016 for Model Number LG, WM2101HW My front loader LG model WM2101HW will fill and then try to agitate one way and then the other, but will not. There WASN'T any error codes. I removed the rotor and stator to examine them. About 10 of the windings has nicks on them but the rotor seems ok. Can the stator be the problem ? How would the stator get nicked up? Feel free to post your reply (excluding my email address) for others can possibly benefit as well. Thank you
1 Answer Hello JB. It is not likely it is the stator, but it could be. The nicks are usually from something inside the rotor, usually pieces of magnets, rubbing the stator. I would make sure there are not any cracks in the magnets. If not, then the most likely cause would be a bad motor board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Dexter January 19, 2016 for Model Number LG WM2277HB My washer vibrates very loudly and moves during the final spin cycles. I have recently replaced the inner tub bearings and seal and the outer tub seal. I replaced the three shock absorbers. After repeated inspections I performed, there is no visible evidence that the new parts are improperly installed. In reading other postings, the bolt connecting the rotor assembly to the shaft is securely fastened. Screws connecting the counter weights to the front of the tub are securely fastened. Most importantly, the machine is leveled on a concrete platform. Therefore, are there other parts that may need to be replaced?
1 Answer Hello Dexter, You should open the door and lift up on the spin basket and feel for slack. Turn the spin basket 1/3 of a turn and do this again. Then you will need to turn the spin basket another 1/3 of a turn and repeat. If you feel more slack in any of the three positions this indicates an issue with the spinner support assembly 4434ER0002H, (also referred to as the spider). Read More...
Dexter January 18, 2016 for Model Number WM2277HB What may be causing the loud vibration of my LG WM2277HB front load machine during the final spin cycle? The inner tub bearings and seal, and the three shock absorbers were replaced with new ones purchased from your website. During the replacement repair mentioned, I observed no visible cracks on tubs. Is there another defective part(s) that may be causing such vibration? Your expert opinion is greatly appreciated.
1 Answer Dexter, Other than a cracked rotor or stator magnet or a leveling issue, you have pretty much covered the things that would cause a vibration during spin. Read More...
Dean December 08, 2015 for Model Number LG WM2016CW Our washing machine no longer turned on. We had a tech look at it and he said it was the main control board. We purchased a new one, but I wanted to look at the machine a bit closer. I disassembled the unit and took the tub out. When I put the tub assembly back together, including the stator, the tub spins freely. When I reassembled the tub in the washing machine and added the rotor, the tub was difficult to spin by hand. I am hesitant to run the washer until I know what is causing the tub to spin hard for fear of blowing another control board. The bearings seemed fine, as the inner tub has no wobble or discerning noise. Finally, we did not get an error code prior to the washer no longer turning on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
1 Answer Dean, You will want to check the RPS sensor to make sure that it is installed properly. Also check the magnets on the rotor and stator to make sure that there are no cracked or broken magnets. Read More...
Eric C October 22, 2015 for Model Number lg wm2301hw Washer decided it would not spin, tub would not turn. when putting washer in drain/spin and hitting go, tub would shake a touch, then sit still for 60 seconds, the give LE code. I kicked it into diagnostic mode, ran through the modes, the tub was turning, but 'timer' showing 00 (bad hall sensor?) When it hit the full spin diagnostic, the washer shut down, and will not power back on. Tested, and filter (fuse) is bad. Tested resistance in rotor, and seeing 8.1 ohms (I've seen it should test between 7.4 and 7.8) -- I'm afraid when I put the new filter in (should be here tomorrow) it will just pop the fuse again.
1 Answer Hello Eric. The LE code is locked motor. The connector (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS is not connected to the connector (3-pin, female, white) of STATOR ASSEMBLY. Eric G. August 17, 2015 for Model Number WM2501HVA My LG front loading washing machine will not power on at all. Replaced the rotor assembly because I noticed the drum was slipping. When the new rotor came in I removed (still dripping we to) clothing from the washer and noticed the bolt securing the rotor to the drum was loose. Replaced the rotor and the machine would not power on at all. Ohm checked the fuse on the noise filter and found it was blown. Replaced noise filter and the machine still would not power on. I don't know where to go from here, looking at the old rotor and the magnets had some wear on them so I'm sure the rotor magnets contacted the stator. The stator has no visible signs of damage. Should I look at replacing the stator, the main control board, or is there other fuses that could be blown? Sorry for the long post, I wanted to give a complete history. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
1 Answer Eric, With having a new noise filter on the unit, check to see if the main control board is getting power. If it is then the issue will be with the main control board having failed. Read More...
