Peggy B July 03, 2014 for Model Number RS253BASB Hi My RS253BASB Samsung refrigerator keeps icing over and is warm. First it was once every 6 months, then maybe every couple of months then monthly now warm. My freezer is fine. Coils are frozen over. How can I fix this without paying 2 arms and a leg? Thanks Peggy
1 Answer Peggy, The most likely cause for the units evaporator coils icing over is a faulty defrost sensor which would be part number DA32-10105R. Read More...
Sarah May 02, 2014 for Model Number SAMSUNG AS24S6GB I would like to know why the evaporator fan motor is not shutting down for the circuit board.
1 Answer Hello Sarah, This is most likely due to a bad relay on the control board A468401. I'm sorry but this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Read More...

Felicia March 22, 2014 for Model Number RS267LABP The refrigerator is not cooling properly but the freezer is fine. Removed back panel and the evaporator assembly is frosted over. Plus the front display is showing that the refrigerator is cooler than what it is, if I unplug it and replug the the correct temp shows and gets no cooler than 56 degrees. What needs to be done?

Serge Grynkorn March 17, 2014 for Model Number RF217ACWP Hello there, I had water leaking into the left crisper bin of my refrigerator. I purchased from you a new Assy Cover Evap part # DA-97-11823A. While changing the part, I observed that the drain was frozen. Using an air dryer I opened the drain and for a few days everything was working fine. I now again have water dripping into the crisper and therefore, it is obvious that the problem was not the evaporator cover but either the evaporator or the drain freezing. What do you think is happening?? Do you know if there is a possibility to attach onto the evaporator an electric part that goes into the drain and keep it open by warming up the water?? If the faulty part is the refrigerator evaporator, this is under warranty from Samsung. I changed the evaporator cover myself because the appliance is a bit more than one year and a half old and was not covered anymore. Please respond to my e-mail with your comments. In advance, I thank you for your help.
1 Answer Serge, The issue with the unit is going to be in the defrost drain in which you will want to clear out all of the ice and once the ice is cleared out you will want to try to flush the drain line as it sounds like it may be clogged. Read More...
Frank March 15, 2014 for Model Number RS253BAWW Unit works fine but keep getting water under the bottom bin. Running out of the vents at the bottom of the cover for the evaporator unit. Have taken off the evap cover and the drain is always iced up. Run hot water until the drain is free and than it works for a time and than water starts to appear again. is there a heater for the evap drain? Any suggestions on keeping the drain open? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Frank, The defrost drain on these are common to freeze. The manufacturer advises technicians to make a small shepherds' hook from a piece of copper and dangle it from the defrost heater to the center of the drain hole. It is important not to let it hang into the hole since it will get red hot like the heater and if it can touch any plastic, it will melt it. Read More...

Nancy February 18, 2014 for Model Number Rs2545sh If the refrigerator builds up ice on the evaporator and causes the Samsung side-by-side refrigerator not to cool properly do I have to replace it with Samsung Ap4171999 or can I just buy the heater defroster for the refrigerator? Do I have to use Samsung parts? It's past the one year of ownership. Wish I had never bought Samsung refrigerator. PAIN!!! but maybe I'll get this issue solved. Where does it give video on how to do myself. thanks
1 Answer Nancy, You do not have to use Samsung parts but is recommended to do so. If the heater is the cause of the issue then the evaporator would need to be changed out as the heater is intertwined in the evaportator. Read More...

Be November 20, 2013 for Model Number Samsung Refrigerator RS267 LASH/XAA FREEZER side OK - 2 degree -but REFRIGERATOR side PROBLEM Evaporator build up freeze ice ,fan still working good but temperature always 56 degree cannot lower than that..Would you please tell me what wrong of that and how to fix it? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Be. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the evaporator coils in the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
