Peter March 10, 2017 for Model Number 11022996101 You mentioned that the loud noise before the spin cycle starts could be from brake assembly? What is the part number and where is it located on Kenmore 11022996101. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Peter, The brake is actually part of the basketdrive W10820043. It is accessed by dropping the gearcase and turning it to release the brake while pulling down on it. The spanner nut under the agitator does have to be removed first or the gearcase and basketdrive will not come out. Read More...
Peter March 09, 2017 for Model Number 11022996101 The washer makes a loud noise just before the spin cycle starts otherwise everything is working fine. Is it the drive block or something else? If it is a drive block, can I use pipe wench instead of the spanner wrench to remove the spanner nut? If yes, which type and size of the pipe wrench I should use? Thanks.
1 Answer Peter, When the washer gets done draining the unit then releases the brake and this is the noise that you hear when it goes into the spin cycle. This would be considered normal and the only part that could be potentially bad would be a brake assembly. Read More...
Nelson April 27, 2016 for Model Number WTW4800XQ2 I have been having trouble with this washer if you turn the Agitator the basket turn at the same time and when it goes on washing mode the basket spins at the same time causing the water to go against the wall and over flow. I have change the gear case and still the same problem.
1 Answer Nelson, The most likely cause for the unit to spin while agitating would be a actuator switch WPW10006355. Read More...
Bon1524 April 06, 2016 for Model Number 110.26632503 Kenmore washer. 110.26632503. Got a new drive block. I can barely get it on! Should it be this tight? Looks just like old one. But old one slips on and off easily. Is loose bad or too tight better? Also when trying to remove spanner nut with tool, the whole drive shafts spins. Makes it very difficult to remove and replace. Is this normal? Haven't seen this on any videoes I watched. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Bon1524. Yes, it is common for the drive block to fit tight onto the unit. This will loosen as you use the unit, but should fit very snug. Read More...
Greg With Whirlpool Washer March 29, 2016 for Model Number LSL9244EZO I have taken off the agitator and there is a tan colored grease inside the bottom of the agitator. There is also old, caked, on dark colored grease on the tube and the sloping down part of the tub near the bottom. This has recently been flaking off into the wash and getting on clothes or in tub when empty and wash is finished. I wiped off the grease from the tube that I could, but can't tell where the the grease is coming from. I don't think this grease should be here--which leads me to believe something else needs be fixed. Why would this grease be there and what repairs do I need to make? Cost to have problem diagnosed is $80 fee + $40-80 labor + whatever parts are required to fix this. Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Hello Greg. That means the transmission is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Mrs. Ann January 02, 2016 for Model Number 110.21252112 White marks are left on the clothes after done washing.
1 Answer Hello Mrs. Ann. This is usually a sign of to much soap. Try cleaning the washer out with vinegar and if it continues, cut back on the amount of soap being used. Read More...

Mary July 13, 2015 for Model Number 11020172001 I have the Kenmore commercial coin opt washer model # 11020172001. I just replaced the drive block few days ago due to the washer stops in the mid cycle where it's suppose to spin. Now it's able to spin but washer stops in the mid cycle again and this time, it won't drain the water leaving it half tub full of water and just stops and sits there. The first time that happened after I replaced the drive block, I tried to test, opened and closed the lid after washer stops mid cycle, it gives me a buzzing/humming sound for about 15 seconds and it washed normal again...I also replaced the lid switch assembly thought that might be the fix..but today the same problem started again. Please help.
1 Answer Mary, You will want to check the unit to make sure that there is no clog in the drain of the unit. If the pump is seized then the unit will just sit there and not operate. The other thing this could be is the timer contacts sticking and causing unit to not drain and spin. Read More...
Horace June 30, 2015 for Model Number 110.28802890 Not fully emptying after rinse cycle. What causes that to happen?
1 Answer Hello Horace. Make sure the drain is clear and not blocked. Also, check the shaft insert for the pump. Next make sure water is not siphoning back into the washer. If all is good, you may need to replace the pump. Read More...
Mario May 05, 2015 for Model Number LSC8244EQ1 I replaced a broken drive brake cam and a clutch assembly. when I tried to install the transmission the trust washer on the transmission shaft hits the t-bearing on the spin tube before the transmission mounting posts on the base reach the holes on the transmission housing. there is about 1/2" gap and the three screws can't reach the holes on the posts. I have not removed the brake and drive tube assembly. why did the brake cam driver arm broke in the first place. what did I do wrong that it does not get back together. I would really appreciate the answer because I am retired and can't afford to by a new machine.
1 Answer Mario, If you are hitting the cam on the brake and drive tube then you need to turn this to the proper direction. If you have it turned wrong then the transmission will have the half inch gap and you will need to adjust it so that it slides into place properly. Read More...
