  • Manages the timing and sequence of operations based on selected settings
  • Interprets signals from the user interface and internal sensors
  • Directs power to components via onboard electronics
  • Monitors system status and may store/output diagnostic error codes
  • Common failure symptoms: won't start, unresponsive or blank display, stuck/erratic cycles, or recurring error codes after a power reset
What's included: 1 electronic control board Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing; verify no voltage is present
  • Use ESD protection and handle the PCB by edges only
  • Photograph/label connectors and move them one at a time to the new board to prevent miswiring
  • Inspect wiring, fuses, and related components for shorts or damage and correct any root cause before powering the new board; follow the unit's tech sheet for any required post-install setup

For Whirlpool Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM18876303)

Tom for Model Number Maytag MDB7749AWM2

All the lights and buttons with the exception of the Start button work, but the dishwasher won’t start. I did the diagnostic test and the washer does run a short cycle and during that cycle you have to push the start button and the start button works when in that mode. I am trying to figure out of it is the control board or the control panel that is the problem. I have looked at the ribbon connector and it doesn't appear to have any problems, but it’s hard to tell. Now the last time I tried the diagnostic keys, they don’t work either, although lights still light.

Tom, If the keys are not working during diagnostics then the keypad W10810475 would be the failure and would need to be replaced.

The door switch on my model was replaced under warranty, then the control board, under warranty as well, it went out again, but this time warranty was up, I replaced it and noticed that one of the plugs were melting, it worked for about a week, and went out again, now I have replaced the circuit board and complete harness because of the melted plugs and still the unit won't start with the start button, I can do the diagnostic modes, but that doesn't wash my dishes. Any help would be greatly appreciated, this dishwasher it only a year and a half old.

Hi. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Find the supplied tech sheet behind the lower kick plate or under the control board. The hot wire from the junction box is black. It goes up to the door switch. Once the door is closed the switch sends it to the non-resettable thermal fuse part # W10258275 then to the L1 terminal tab on the control panel on the black wire with the white stripe. Verify voltage at the board at this point P6 and at the P2 connection that has the white w/blue wire. If there is no power there then replace the thermal fuse. Thank You.

The Maytag dishwasher is less than 3 years old. The dishwasher shows no lights nor signs of life when any of the mode buttons are pushed. Will replacement of the control module Whirlpool p/n W10250166 correct the problem ? The mother board appears to be receiving power for when I unplug, then reconnect the 2 leads to the capacitor there is a spark. Also, when I do this the dishwasher will run part of a cycle for a minute then die again.

Tom, The more likely issue is a control panel keypad circuit(s) failure "PROBLEM: Won’t Run and LED Above Key(s) is Flashing Rapidly - Short circuit(s) in keypad or in control’s input lines that read the keys. - " The control panel [AP5176683} is the more likely issue. You can remove the lower kickplate access panel, you should find the technical data sheet attached to the backside of the panel or the frame, you can conduct the diagnostic / reset test, and keypad test procedure to varify the issue. Thanks
