U-type clip nut slides onto sheet metal panels to create threaded anchor points for screws. Replace if broken, missing, or worn during repairs.
I undid the top with a putty knife, took out two screws and took off the front. I replaced the drum rollers and put the new belt on the drum, looped the belt on the idler and then onto the motor pulley. I also put on two new top hold down clips as the old ones broke because they were plastic, the new ones were metal. I took off the back panel and replaced the heating element. The hardest part was cleaning up all of the lint and dirt that had accumulated over the years. It was not difficult,... Read more
Fix a dryer that won't start, stops mid-cycle, or runs continuously. This 2-cycle timer controls cycle selection and automatic shutoff. DIY-friendly repair.
My dryer would only start (and keep running) after a lot of fiddling with the timer to find a position that "worked." The machine wouldn't turn on when the timer was set in the dry-sensor region, and eventually, it stayed running only when we pressed the timer button. As soon as the pressure was off, the dryer stopped. Clearly that wasn't sustainable. I'd been putting off the repair because our dryer vent situation is tricky; once disconnected it's a real bear to reconnect. Watching the... Read more
Secures the control console to the top panel of your dryer. Replace this clip if it's broken, cracked, or missing to keep the console firmly mounted.
I read the FAQ section of Appliance Pros parts web site. I found out I needed to replace the temperature control switch, WPW10248240, to correct my problem. This switch also controls the tub filling water level based on air pressure via the attached vinyl tubing. I ordered the switch and the tubing, WP353255, in case mine was no longer any good, and I also ordered the retaining clips for the control cabinet, (2) of WP8312709, because they can be damaged when accessing the controls. My new... Read more

Dryer not heating? This complete heating element assembly fixes no-heat issues. Includes element, heater box, and thermal components. DIY repair.
I found the assembly with heater element, thermostat, and the thermal fuse already assembled (cheaper than finding what part was bad and ordering that one part). unplugged dryer, pulled it out and removed the dryer exhaust tube, the top and front. The harness was a little short so I wasnt able to pull the whole heater assembly out before disconnecting. BEFORE disconnecting I took a picture so that if my brain forgot what wires went were!!!! put the dryer back together and put a load that just... Read more

Secures the control console to the washer cabinet. Replace if missing, stripped, or rusted to eliminate panel wobble and restore a tight, stable fit.
THIE REPAIR WAS ON A WHIRLPOOL TOP LOAD WASHING MACHINE At first I suspected the leak was from the pump because I had replaced the pump 2 times over 10 years. This time with the cabinet removed and filling the tub with water, I saw water running down one of the steel support arms that go under the tub, so I was guessing that it was coming from the tub seal. I had to use a jumper wire to bypass the Lid Switch so the water would drain. Several months before I had this issue with the water leaking... Read more
