The original issue with the dryer is that a corner of the lint screen was sticking out of the lint screen guide, and it would not stay flush with the guide. As a result, many tank top straps, waistband strings, and blankets would get caught on this corner and twist, tear, or warp my clothes. Our Maytag gas clothes dryer was not drying like it should/used to and was making a lot of noise. After researching online I figured the vent was partially blocked and/or the blower wheel was bad. When I took it apart, the vent had very little lint in the lower elbow exiting the back of the dryer but the blower wheel was loose on the shaft and was missing the clamp. For about the last month or so the clothes (especially sheets) would just roll into a ball (like a big sausage) the wouldn't dry. Kept readjusting the clothes. The root cause was the front glides. They were virtually gone, and the drum was on metal to metal. So I replaced them with a front glide kit. I also replaced the belt, rear rollers, and lint screen. This was a pretty simple install if you know how to take apart your dryer. I have a kenmore dryer which is identical to an LG dryer. My kenmore dryer was actually made by LG at that time. You can find the specific model on youtube and see how your dryer comes apart. While doing this i cleaned all the inner parts of my dryer. Ordered a new clip and installed it. Easy to do. Unplugged the dryer. Removed the front. It is only held on by two screws. Removed wires to the door switch. removed the female end (it had the broken male piece in it. Inserted the new female part in the front, clipped in the male part into the door and reconnected the door switch wires, screwed the front back on. Job done. Total time was less than 10 minutes. After unplugging the dryer from the wall socket, I used a screwdriver ( Phillips ) to remove the light cover fixture. This gave me access to the bulb which had burned out. I first use my fingers to remove the bulb but the base came lose from the glass bulb. I then used a needle nose pliers to remove the metal base of the bulb from the light fixture. Ordered grille cover and filter guide to replace broken parts. Easily removed grille cover and filter guide with star tip screw driver. Broken parts slipped or popped right out. Slid in new filter guide then grille cover. Put the 4 screws back in. Had a little difficulty matching up screw holes in the plastic parts with the holes in the metal of the dryer itself but once they all lined up the repair was quickly finished. I pulled the dryer away from the wall and unplugged it. Then I used a 5/16 nut driver and removed the 2 screws in the bottom front panel and pulled it off. Next I removed the 2 5/16 screws holding the front door panel and pulled it down far enough to disconnect the wires for the light and the wires on the door switch.
