Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W11086533

The Insulation is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers, specifically engineered to enhance the appliance's efficiency by reducing heat loss and minimizing noise. This insulation wraps around the dishwasher, acting as a barrier that keeps heat within the appliance during cycles and dampens the sound of its operation, making for a quieter kitchen environment.

Causes of a bad insulation part can include wear and tear over time, moisture damage leading to mold or mildew buildup, or physical damage from pests or mishandling during installation or repairs.

Symptoms of inadequate insulation include:

  • Noticeable increase in the dishwasher's noise level
  • Exterior surfaces of the dishwasher feeling warmer than usual
  • Longer wash cycles due to inefficient temperature maintenance

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking from the bottom of the dishwasher   Chuck H. • Rochester Hills , MI • October 17, 2015

Removed and replaced diverter motor. Ops check good, no more leaking. I'm guessing the seal was the problem but diverter ruined (water residue) from leaking over the last 5 years??? This seal is only available if you buy the tub so followed another review - removed diverter then gently pried out the seal, cleaned and then lubed with silicone grease. Also turned the seal 180 degrees or the opposite way before reinstalling the diverter and then wrapping it all back under the counter. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Kitchenaid dishwasher kudp02frss2 leak at float switch at front right of unit   Richard B. • Mahwah , NJ • December 02, 2016

Removed bottom cover, located leak at float switch, removed and replaced float switch kit. The toughest part of the repair was removing the Float & Retainer Assembly (in the interior of the machine tank) which broke when I pushed it back and pulled it straight up as suggested in the service manual. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishes would't clean on the top rack and bottom dishes were wet   Rajasekhar R. • Warrenton , VA • August 02, 2015

I replaced the rear tube that feeds water to the top and middle spinners, and this appears to have fixed the problem. The middle spinner, which is attached to the bottom of the top rack, has a tube that connects to a hole in the middle of the rear tube. This hole has a rubber flap and I noticed that this flap was wide open. By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10195038

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Machine running loud grew worse until it was obvious the motor blew a bearing   Robert S. • Bettendorf , IA • February 21, 2015

We initially noticed the dishwasher running loud and failing to completely clean dishes. Research suggested issues like this were normally caused by either the main circulation motor or the drain motor. Over the next week the noise worsened, and it became obvious that the circulation motor had went (loud whirring noise whenever the spin cycle kicked in). Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher door popping opening   Paul M. • Chester , NJ • November 04, 2018

We scoured the web and there are few references to this so I want to add it in case it helps. Replacing hinges solved the popping opening issue. We could not solve our dishwasher door issue after a number of other tries: Latch, Catch, Ropes that attach to the springs that pull the door closed. I tend to believe the solve could be different b/c all these things work together. But for us, we were skeptical that the hinge swap would work and we were very pleasantly surprised. Read more
