Dead control panel. Oven would not start. Mike H. • Cotopaxi , CO • April 12, 2022
I have a Whirlpool RBS245PDQ12 wall mount oven. Gathering information from AppliancePartsPros.com resulted in two possibilities: The Thermal Switch or the Control Panel. Talking with Appliance Parts Pros led to testing the Oven Temperature Sensor. It's supposed to test at 1080 Ohms at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Mine tested at 960 Ohms so I knew it was bad... I found the service manual on the top of the Oven on the left behind the control panel. It has values for testing (Ohms of resistance)...

Stopped working while in self cleaning mode. Eberhard L. • Raleigh , NC • March 17, 2023
This is for the Whirlpool in-wall double oven GBD307PDS10. No power and the door locked after the shutdown before the self-cleaning cycle was over. I watched some video and this is a known issue the fuses blow during self-cleaning.
I opened the door with a 90-degree hook, an easy task. Took doors off (watch video from others), unscrewed from the wall, and made a very small platform. and took the oven out (need two people and take the doors off first. The doors are heavy and you won't lift the...

Kitchenaid over door broken glass replacement Robert L. • Los Angeles , CA • November 09, 2019
The most difficult part was figuring out how to take the door off as the manual instructions were not clear. Thank you, YouTube for your help. This door doesn't have the more modern release latches. You open the door all the way and stick Allen wrenches into the holes that appear by the joint of the latch. When you close the door to 3/4 or 7/8 closed, the latches are released from the unit and by holding the sides of the door, you pull it out.
The whole replacement would take around an hour,...

Burnt out interior oven lights Cheryl L. • North Zulch , TX • October 18, 2014
One would think replacement appliance light bulbs would be a staple In Service departments of appliance stores, not so. I decided to travel to several local parts and service departments to pick up six of the little bulbs. Guess what? no one had them in stock! Time, energy spent - mission NOT accomplished. Once again, I turned to AppliancePartsPro.com. Et voila! They bulbs were in stock AND arrived the next day! YEA! Fast, simple service. Instant Success! Who could ask for anything more?

Our broiler coil had a blister in it and wasn't working Stephanie M. • Brentwood , TN • September 10, 2016
We ordered the part and one extra screw(which we didn't end up using). If possible take door off your oven for easy access and have lighting source to see well. Taking part out was easy. Putting back in was more difficult because you have to match up two layers of parts in our oven. The broiler coil and the broiler shield above it. We used small craft clothes pins to keep wires from going behind the built in oven. We used a small diameter screw driver to match up holes before putting...

Heat loss due to old worn door gasket door insulation damaged Raymond M. • Mundelein , IL • February 09, 2016
Replacing the Door Gasket is very easy and will take about 2-3 mins per door. Simply remove the Gasket Retainer (1 screw), and pull off the old Gasket. Install the new gasket by simply pushing the gasket clips into the holes where the old clips came out from. Be sure to start gasket at the first hole either side of the Gasket Retainer and work your way around. Reinstall Gasket retainer.
The Door Insulation is a very involved repair, and best to follow specific repair manual instructions. Door...

Oven had a burnt out hidden bake element and was not heating properly Christopher A. • Auburn , AL • April 23, 2017
Following the instructions that I received through the helpful research of the APP staff, I disconnected the power, disassembled the back of the oven, and accessed the hidden element. This involved bending parts of the sheet metal and cutting the insulation, so I was very apprehensive about doing this. Once I exposed the compartment that contains the element, I had difficulty extracting the old part and was really nervous about pulling hard to extract it - until I saw the damaged element. It...
