Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Agitator drive failed   W J. • Panama City Beach , FL • February 26, 2023

I had to cut the old agitator out with an oscillating saw in order to access the agitator drive. This is the second Maytag (MVWC 565) I have had to do this to. I first tried removing it by sliding straps under the agitator then then using a jack to pull it loose which did not work either time. One suggestion I have would be to remove debris from tub as you cut in order to prevent it from dropping from the inner tub into the outer tub. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You F 51 error code   Video P. • Johnson Creek , WI • March 05, 2017

Once you tilt the washer and prop it against something it's a pretty straight forward and easy fix. If you watch the instructional "How-to" video beforehand, the repair should take between 30 to 60 minutes. It all depends on your skill level and if everything goes smoothly. Make sure you have all the proper tools, grease and blue thread lock at the ready to help you move this repair along faster. This repair was in conjunction with replacing the motor position sensor. Washer Water Level Pressure Switch Hose
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP353244

Washer overfilling or not filling properly? A damaged pressure switch hose prevents accurate water level sensing. Easy 15-minute DIY fix with video.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My kenmore washer model 11029828801 was agitating during the fill cycle and the tub would only partially fill also at the end of the spin cycle rinse water was spraying in resoaking the clothes   Jay S. • Hammond , IN • February 07, 2017

I read the FAQ section of Appliance Pros parts web site. I found out I needed to replace the temperature control switch, WPW10248240, to correct my problem. This switch also controls the tub filling water level based on air pressure via the attached vinyl tubing. I ordered the switch and the tubing, WP353255, in case mine was no longer any good, and I also ordered the retaining clips for the control cabinet, (2) of WP8312709, because they can be damaged when accessing the controls. My new... Read more

Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W10364988

Fix washer not filling, slow fill, or water leaks with this water inlet valve assembly. Moderate DIY repair, typically takes 30-60 minutes to install.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My washing machine made a terrible high pitched squealing noise when adding water (fill rinse etc).   Ann E. • Edwardsville , IL • March 29, 2017

I replaced the water inlet valve assembly. We have relatively hard water and I assumed that over the years those inlet valves were clogged with calcium deposits which in turn led to the high pitched squealing as water was added to the machine. The hardest part of the entire job was releasing the top of the washer to disconnect the hoses from the valve assembly. Everything else was relatively easy. We simply followed the online video. My washer no longer screams and I'm thrilled! Your... Read more

Washer Water Fill Hoses

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Washer would not spin nor adgitate   Jeff A. • Stow , OH • June 28, 2015

Motor control board was flashing 4 times, indicating that the mode shifter had an error. I disconnected the mode shifter's wire from the controller and measured the resistance between the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. Since the reading was infinite, that meant that the mode shifter coil or in-line thermal sensor was electrically open, i.e. bad. As this fix is near a complete tear-down of the washing machine, here are a few tips I discovered. 1) the hub nut is difficult to remove and you need a... Read more

A buddy of mine gave me a washer and said if you can fix it you can have it, It doesn't spin. I tried running a spin cycle and found that it did try to spin but was very noisy. I disassembled the washing machine and found that the tub seal had gone out and took out the bearings with it so I ordered a new tub and seal kit and while I waited for that I proceeded to disassemble the rest of the washing machine and clean everything so when the new parts arrived it was ready and waiting.
