Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Gas valve on gas dryer leaking   Thomas R. • Stillwater , MN • January 10, 2017

Replaced valve had some trouble removing the fitting from the valve as the new fitting was slightly too large and had to be replaced with the fitting from the old valve. Used a large crescent wrench to grip the valve at the base and I was able to apply enough force to remove both fittings transferring old fitting to new valve. The instructions were detailed and excellent. The dryer is up and running fine. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water dispenser leaking   Tom L. • Frisco , TX • September 04, 2015

We have a built-in KitchenAid KSSC42QKS02. Unlike the other Kitchenaid or Whirlpool refrigerators, our valve is located at the bottom and towards the front of the refrigerator. I actually preferred it to be located at the back like the others. It would've been easier to get to. We had to lower the fridge turning the screws(front of the lower panel), so it would sit on the rollers. Then we just simply roll the fridge out, turn off the supply valve, and install the newly bought valve inlet. It... Read more

Dishwasher Float (Water Level)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP99002363

This float controls your dishwasher's water level. As the tub fills, it rises to signal the float switch to shut off incoming water, helping prevent overfilling and leaks.

  • Lifts with the water to actuate the float switch and stop filling
  • Helps protect against overfilling and door leaks
  • Replace if the float is cracked, deformed, waterlogged, or sticks in its well
  • Symptoms can include: won't fill or stops filling early; overfilling or leaks at the door
Includes: 1 float Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
  • Remove the lower rack and locate the float in the tub floor
  • Lift the old float straight up; clear any debris; seat the new float and free up-and-down movement
  • Restore power and run a fill test to proper operation and check for leaks
Troubleshooting tip: If water enters the tub even with power off, the inlet valve is likely stuck open rather than a float issue.

Inlet-Watr
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W11535094

The Water Inlet Valve is an OEM component for Whirlpool dishwashers. As the critical connector between the home supply lines and the dishwasher itself, this valve oversees the entry of water into the machine for wash and rinse cycles.

Causes of inlet valve malfunction include mineral deposits accumulating inside the valve body or worn seals no longer maintaining a tight closure following years of usage. This places increased strain on internal mechanisms.

Symptoms consist of:

  • Slow or irregular water fills failing to reach proper levels
  • Fluctuating water pressure inputs
  • Drips or continuous leaks at the water connection
  • Inability of cycles to advance beyond initial fill stages

This Whirlpool OEM replacement is compatible with KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore dishwashers as well.

Door Strike
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP71002097

This door strike is the catch the latch engages to hold the oven door closed. It restores a firm, aligned close so heat stays in and the appliance can detect a fully shut door for normal operation.

  • Aligns with the latch to keep the door closed and sealed properly
  • Provides the catch point required for latch/lock engagement
  • Wear, bending, or breakage can cause a loose door, heat escaping, or an oven light that won't turn off
  • Prevents self-clean or other cycles that require a fully closed/locked door from starting
What's included: 1 door strike Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker; if gas, shut off the gas supply. Allow the appliance to cool completely
  • Typically mounts to the door or cabinet frame with screws; transfer and reuse existing hardware
  • Position and tighten evenly so the latch engages smoothly; minor alignment adjustments may be needed
  • After installation, verify the door closes fully, seals well, and the light turns off

Water Inlet Valve Assembly
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10140917

  • Opens and closes to control incoming water flow as commanded by the control system
  • Directs water to the appliance's water circuit for proper operation
  • Common symptoms: no water entering, weak/slow flow, water seeping in when off
  • Physical clues: cracked housing, mineral buildup, or a valve that hums but doesn't pass water
What's included: 1 water inlet valve assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
  • Keep towels handy; relieve line pressure before disconnecting tubing/fittings
  • Transfer connectors and any mounting hardware one-for-one; ensure tubing is fully seated and use appropriate thread sealant if your model uses threaded fittings
  • Restore water, check all joints for leaks, then restore power and run a test cycle
Tip: Low supply pressure or a clogged inlet screen/supply line can mimic valve failure—inspect and clear these before replacing the valve.
