Lg washer not draining odd sounding pump noise Tom K. • Blaine , WA • September 07, 2014
It was fairly obvious that the washer drainer motor had failed, water was not draining, filter was clean (bottom lower left panel door, have a pail ready!) and drain line was not blocked.
Someone had provided great advice on the Appliance Parts Pro's site about replacing the drain motor from the bottom. Great suggestion! Easy to do, although be prepared for more water to drain from the washing machine onto the floor after you lay it over.
I carefully lowered the machine onto it's back,...

Leaky direct drive pump Thomas P. • Raleigh , NC • April 09, 2014
With much trepidation, I Googled leaking washing machines and deduced that our problem was likely (but not certain) that we needed to replace the direct drive washer pump. After viewing the AppliancePartsPros video, I decided that ordering the $30 part was worth the risk (vs a $120 plus service call). The pump arrived w/in 2 days and my wife and I experienced an enjoyable bonding experience installing it :). But it's now working great and there is no leak. ... Kudos to AppliancePartsPros for a...

Failed heating element in circulation motor / heater assembly Wayne S. • Georgetown , TX • March 14, 2021
This was to address an E:09 fault code on a Bosch dishwasher. I swapped out the Circulation motor and heater assembly. The video given on APP.com was for a different model, but more or less the same. The video gave me confidence enough to order the part and attempt it. The significant difference was that in the video, the assembly is easily accessible from the bottom of the unit. On my unit, however, the bottom is a closed plastic pan that isn't easily removable, likely requiring removal of the...

Dishwasher stopped draining water the pump was running (i could hear the noise) but water would not go away Evgueni P. • San Mateo , CA • February 08, 2015
I've opened sump housing to check for clogging but it was clean. When I removed check valve to inspect it I've found out that the round part of the valve was missing so I figured it might've blocked the water exit at drain hose or something like that. So I pulled the dishwasher out to get a full access to drain hose connector and the pump. Upon disconnecting the drain and checking its connector I indeed found the round piece totally blocking the hose and acting as a seal. I removed the piece...

Drain pump Benjamin E. • Pittsburgh , PA • July 26, 2022
I spent a lot of time taking apart and cleaning the drain pump and hoses in my Bosch dishwasher. I still got the error that the drain pump wasn't right. So, after doing some research, I learned that the motor might be done and that seemed to be the only solution.
I serached for my part on APPs.com and found the part for about $43 ($50 by the time tax and shipping was added in). The part was ordered, shipped and was on my doorstep in two days.
I followed the repair video instructions provided...

Pump was getting jammed intermittently Christopher G. • Mc Kees Rocks , PA • April 26, 2024
The original pump was getting jammed intermittently, more and more often. I cleaned it out, but that didn't help the jamming. So I ordered a new pump. Have your new pump on hand and look at it to see how it attaches. The original pump, a different part number than the replacement, lasted about 7 years of almost everyday use, with multiple loads each day.
My washer model Maytag MHW5500FW0 has the pump at the bottom back, in an awkward position. This took me about 2 hours due to the awkward...

Washer does not start any of the wash cycles. Washer goes thru the initial steps like momentarily opening the water valve and locks the lid. Then nothing happens. Ronnel L. • East Patchogue , NY • November 15, 2023
I opened the cover panel of the control board. I visually checked for burns on the board and verified all connectors were firmly seated.
I opened the bottom of the unit, and I saw the service manual in a zip-lock bag. From this manual, I verified that the drain pump resistance is good, the start capacitor is good, and the lid switch is good.
I entered diagnostic service mode. Persistent alarms are 4 and 25.Error 4 means Reset Monitor, while Error 25 means Pressure Sensor Dropout. I...

Loud noise when washer was in a drain cycle Robert G. • Clayton , NC • January 03, 2016
There was a loud noise from my washer during the drain cycle. (The washer seemed to drain just fine.) It was pretty easy to determine that the noise was coming from the drain pump. (Which for my washer is behind the front lower inspection panel on the right side front.) I inspected the outside of the pump for any physical damage and verified no issues with the pump or the mounts. Everything seemed ok. I then checked the drain pump filter(You will need something to catch water if you do...

Remove upper and lower baskets for access. Remove 4 Torx screws holding drain/filter assembly, accessing last screw by rotating the water duct clockwise. Be sure to first un-clip the water duct at top and rear of dishwasher so that it can be moved. (Take the opportunity to remove accumulated deposits behind the water duct). Remove the drain/filter assembly and then remove the single screw holding the food chopper housing. Then remove the chopper assembly which is likely to be in pieces if it...

Saved $$$ doing it myself Bob C. • Sacremento , CA • June 12, 2014
I have a 12 year old Kenmore Elite washer. One day, suddenly, I heard a grinding noise and the washer abruptly stopped. I called a repair service and was told it could be the bearings in the drum of this front-load washer, or it could be the washer's drain pump, which automatically shuts down when the drain pump fails. The repairman said, if it is the drum, it wasn't worth fixing for the age of this washer. It would cost $85 for him to come out and diagnose the problem, then if I decide to fix...

GE dishwasher not draining. Carol J. • Bartlett , IL • December 18, 2021
I viewed youtube videos and followed the instructions on how to determine the cause of the problem. I cleared the lines and poked my fingers in to check for obstructions. But in the end, the drain pump was the problem. The pump came in the mail the next day. The job required the pump and only one of the hose clamps as the original setup has one single ear clamp which can be removed with wire cutters and a standard one which I re-used. There is a wire adapter in the kit that is necessary to...

The dishwasher filled but did not wash. James M. • Norman , OK • September 02, 2023
The water just sat in bottom of the tub, but the dishes never got wet. The water would drain out at the end of the cycle. I took a chance that it was the circulation pump and not the control panel since everything else seemed to be working. I replaced the circulation pump &motor and the problem was solved. The hardest part was getting the DW out of the cabinet since it was a very tight fit due to the floor tile. The job of replacing the part only took about 15~20 minutes thanks to the repair...
