Soap dispenser wouldn't close door kept falling down Graeme M. • Branford , CT • October 07, 2017
First replaced the latch, spring, and lever, but no improvement. Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. After turning off the power to the dishwasher, I removed the switch cover (not obvious how -- a video would help: on the left, I slid the narrow rectangular plastic wire cover a little to one side and gently opened it on its little hinge, which is near the left side of the door, and then...

Cover detergent cup would not close or stay closed Michael G. • Wareham , MA • October 01, 2019
Although I ordered the latch, lever and a new cup and replace the original pieces the dispenser still did not close. On further inspection it turned out to be a small spring that had fallen out of place. Once the spring was reconnected the dispensing cover worked fine. I'm still happy that I replaced the entire assembly with new parts regardless. Discovering the loose spring took the most time.

Old and leaking inlet sump ? Nicholson J. • Henderson , NC • December 06, 2014
Replaced with a new Inlet Sump [WD18X213]. It was a little tedious, attaching the Inlet Sump, back to the pump, because I did the job with the dishwasher in place (not pulled out). My dishwasher was plumbed with copper pipe, so I really didn't want to upset that. Also, I had previously replaced the motor and the pump in this dishwasher, so I was familiar with how the Inlet Sump attached to the pump. Again, it's very tight working under the unit while it is still in place, and I wouldn't...

The old ge dishwasher spray arm tabs had broken off Peter H. • Hinesburg , VT • June 29, 2014
The replacement arm arrived promptly. Removing the old spray arm hub was very difficult by hand, plumbers wrench, or adjustable wrench. However, by inserting a screwdriver trough the two opposite holes where the tabs had broken off, it is relatively easy to unscrew the old hub.

Broken base spray arm tab that holds the bottom rotating spray arm in place Barry G. • Sinking Spring , PA • August 24, 2015
In the How to fix it your self section of Questions and Answers, your answers for removing the Base Spray Arm is incorrect. It states "just stick a screw driver into the base spray arm from inside the tub and turn", that does not work. Their are 2 tabs that in gauge the base spray arm with the tub. A 4 prong round wrench is required to insert from the bottom into the pump connector and turn the nut that sits inside.

The dishwasher would not drain sometimes Thomas W. • Oceanside , CA • October 02, 2016
I replaced the pump drain assembly. The flapper valve was included in the assembly, so I did not need to order that. On previous repairs, the old drain hose was tricky to reinstall, so I replaced it and the hose clamp. The silverware basket had holes in the bottom and required replacement. I had some broken tine clips.

I had the smell of burning insulation followed by failure to drain the dishwasher seemed to cycle ok Dan G. • El Dorado , CA • November 17, 2014
Took the washer out, turned it over and found the solenoid that worked the drain valve to be melted, and the shaft that the solenoid activates was heavily corroded. I found the right parts on your website after reading the notes left by other customers, then watched the video. The repairs were fairly simple and successful. This was a GE profile dishwasher.

Burned out motor and broken (stripped thread) rinse aid dispenser Norman G. • Winters , CA • October 20, 2015
Repair parts arrived super fast.
Installed the new parts according to the supplied instructions. All went well.
It took over 2 hours because the unit had to be removed after the water and power were disconnected and then the initial problem diagnosed (motor brushes worn beyond service limits). The removal of the spray bar tower assembly was a challenge until it was discovered that the tower unscrews in a CW direction from the bar that then allowed access to the attachment screw that holds that...

Dirty dishes and low heat. Mark B. • Smyrna , DE • May 26, 2018
First, I took the whole thing apart and cleaned every spot...the main culprit seemed to be the float. It was pretty gunked up and seemed to be not working...after a good cleaning it was fine...but once I pulled the unit out and checked underneath I noticed the heating element was loose, leaking, and had burnt off the blade connecting ire. So I promptly bought this replacement, installed it in about 5 minutes, did a clean cycle, and shes back to normal...I love AppliancePartsPros.com, and use...

Upper rack on dishwasher was very hard to extend and retract Daniel N. • Bolingbrook , IL • August 05, 2014
Dishwasher needed new wheel that mounted to upper rack. There are 4 total that make the rack roll in and out. Replaced both side rails and rail caps (4- only 50 cents each) along with new upper rack that came with wheels installed. One side rail was bent so decided to spend a little extra and replace both. Might of been able to replace just one broken rack wheel but rack was old and was rusting in some areas so decided to just replace it.
