Packrat January 30, 2013 for Model Number Maytag washer model MAH5500BWWW Washer fills but does not run. I have replaced the screens for the hoses as that was the cheapest fix but that is not the problem. Lights are on the panel and the door locks and it fills but wouldn't run. Timer continues to run down.
1 Answer Hello Packrat. You need to test the motor and see if there is power coming to it. Sounds like the motor and motor control board may need to be replaced on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Mrer October 23, 2012 for Model Number MLE2000AYW rotates slowly clockwise then counter clockwise during the spin cycle. Will not spin.
1 Answer MRER, There are two most likely situations, with your description. The most likely is a spin enable switch WP22002162 or wire has failed, on the door lock assembly. The other possibility is one of the three "off balance' switches WP22002044 WP22003302 or wires had failed or stuck closed. If the machine control board does not "see" the spin enable switch is closeed, or if it does not see a closed off balnce switch circuit, the washer will not spin. You'll need to remove the top washer panel and the front panel to access the latch assembly and the off balanced switches and wires Read More...
Curt A. October 18, 2012 My tub bearings failed. I replaced them. Everything works but spin cylce cuts out just as it gets started, clothes come out very laiden with water. Is it possible something on the motor controller burnt under extra load from bearing failure? Tub overload switch test good. Door lock light is on.
1 Answer Hi. Do you still see the door lock light - on at the control panel? If not then replace the latch assy. Let me know the rest of your model # so I can get you the correct parts needed for the latch rebuild. Are there any suds (over soaping)? If so the remove the front panel and clean the pump part # WP22003059. Replace it if the impeller spins loose on the pump shaft or if it is water logged inside the motor armature. Clean the sump hose (tub -to - pump). Look up inside the outer tub when it is removed to make sure there are no debris stuck there not allowing draining. Look over all connections on all components for correct and tight connections. Thank You. Read More...
Dennis August 07, 2012 for Model Number mle2000ayw My washer does not start when start push button is pressed. I see a red light and I hear it starting but when I let go of the start button, it turns off.
1 Answer Hello Dennis, This is most likely the motor run winding open or a bad centrifugal switch in the motor. Either way, it will take the motor to correct. If your serial number starts with 64 or lower, you will need motor part number W10410997. If your serial number starts with 65 or higher, you will need to order motor part number WP33002795. Chuck February 26, 2012 for Model Number mle2000ayw The spin cycle on the washing machine was intermittantly not working. now the spin cycle not working at all.
1 Answer Hello Chuck. Check and see if the door is locking properly. If not, check and see if the r-11 is burnt on the control board. If so, replace the control board WP22004325 and the wax motor WP22002119 in the unit. If the door is locking, you will need to check and make sure the wax motor is engaging the spin enable switch to start the spin cycle in the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Jim January 30, 2012 for Model Number mah4000AWW Before, washer would sometimes fill and stop, turning all lights off. Now it fills and stops all the time without ever tumbling. Replaced the timer. Still no go. What to try next?
1 Answer Hi Jim. Your door lock light is not coming on is it ? If not then you neeed to replace the door lock 2-switches part # WP22002162. There is a flat spring part # 22003717. And the wax motor that heats up and starts and holds the latch system closed part # WP22002119. If you need the light bulb it is part # WP22002119. This is a normal age failure. Look at the main control board behind the timer and see if the resisters on the board are bad or bottom circuit traces are open ? Board part # WP22002989. If all this is good then you need to rempove the door(place the hinges and screws in proper order for replacement. Then remove the front panel and look at the motor control board to see if the front glass fuse is open or the 3- transistors on the board are open. Motor control board part # WP22004046. Thank You.
