The Suspension Rod Kit is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This kit includes four suspension rods designed to support the washing machine's tub assembly. By absorbing vibrations and stabilizing the tub during the spin cycle, these rods play a crucial role in reducing noise and preventing the washing machine from moving excessively.

Causes of a bad Suspension Rod Kit can include normal wear and tear, overloading the washing machine, or frequent heavy cycles that put extra strain on the rods.

Symptoms of a bad Suspension Rod Kit include:

  • The washing machine is excessively noisy during the spin cycle.
  • The tub seems unbalanced or moves more than usual, even with light loads.
  • The washing machine "walks" or moves from its original position during operation.
  • Unfinished cycles or error codes indicating an unbalanced load.

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

For Whirlpool Suspension Rod Kit (Part Number: OEM17955348)

Cajun Man for Model Number WTW6300SW0

I'm getting the ul code during spin cycle. The machine is not making any noise, except for the basket slamming the side of the tub. It always seems to hit the same front corner, leading me to believe my suspension rod(s) could be the culprit. Other than that the machine works fine. This seems to be a common issue in 5-7 year old machines. My question is, is there any way to check the rods. Other than the plastic hanger parts the only other part that could seem to go bad would be ther spring. Can you tell me what the compresion force should be on these springs? I just would like to be sure the rods are bad before ordering and changing them.

Cajon man, Unfortunately we do not have a compression rating for the springs on the rods. The rods could be the culprit but you will also want to check the stator to make sure that it is not damaged in any way as the stator being damaged could cause the unit to get off balance.

Hello MJC. No, it is not likely. That leads toward a bad control board in the unit. You can lift up on the inner basket to see if the splines are moving up and down properly.

Toehead, This issue sounds like the tub bearing may have gone bad and allowing the tub shaft to move around. For this issue you would either want to replace the bearing or replace the outer tub. The black that you are seeing would be from the bearing grease leaking. The outer tub is part number W10193886 and comes with the bearing and shaft. The bearings can be replaced separately by ordering part number W10435302 but will require a bearing tool which is part number W10447783.

Hello Trinidad, If your model number is 11027086604, I was able to pull up the tech sheet. Regarding the F1 fault code, it states: Pressure Signal Out-of-Range F then 1 flashes when the control detects an out of range pressure signal. ? Check pressure hose connection from tub to machine/motor control. Is hose pinched or kinked? ? If F then 1 repeats numerous times after POWER is pressed and the pressure hose connection is not pinched or kinked, replace the machine/motor control. The ul code states: Unbalanced Load uL is displayed when the machine/motor control detects an off-balance load, and is steady on while the washer runs a mini-cycle to rebalance the load. ? Display clears if mini-cycle successfully rebalanced the load. ? If the mini-cycle is unsuccessful, uL will flash until the door lid is opened, allowing the customer to view and redistribute the load.
