Lg washer not draining odd sounding pump noise Tom K. • Blaine , WA • September 07, 2014
It was fairly obvious that the washer drainer motor had failed, water was not draining, filter was clean (bottom lower left panel door, have a pail ready!) and drain line was not blocked.
Someone had provided great advice on the Appliance Parts Pro's site about replacing the drain motor from the bottom. Great suggestion! Easy to do, although be prepared for more water to drain from the washing machine onto the floor after you lay it over.
I carefully lowered the machine onto it's back,...

Leaky direct drive pump Thomas P. • Raleigh , NC • April 09, 2014
With much trepidation, I Googled leaking washing machines and deduced that our problem was likely (but not certain) that we needed to replace the direct drive washer pump. After viewing the AppliancePartsPros video, I decided that ordering the $30 part was worth the risk (vs a $120 plus service call). The pump arrived w/in 2 days and my wife and I experienced an enjoyable bonding experience installing it :). But it's now working great and there is no leak. ... Kudos to AppliancePartsPros for a...

Pump was getting jammed intermittently Christopher G. • Mc Kees Rocks , PA • April 26, 2024
The original pump was getting jammed intermittently, more and more often. I cleaned it out, but that didn't help the jamming. So I ordered a new pump. Have your new pump on hand and look at it to see how it attaches. The original pump, a different part number than the replacement, lasted about 7 years of almost everyday use, with multiple loads each day.
My washer model Maytag MHW5500FW0 has the pump at the bottom back, in an awkward position. This took me about 2 hours due to the awkward...

Washer does not start any of the wash cycles. Washer goes thru the initial steps like momentarily opening the water valve and locks the lid. Then nothing happens. Ronnel L. • East Patchogue , NY • November 15, 2023
I opened the cover panel of the control board. I visually checked for burns on the board and verified all connectors were firmly seated.
I opened the bottom of the unit, and I saw the service manual in a zip-lock bag. From this manual, I verified that the drain pump resistance is good, the start capacitor is good, and the lid switch is good.
I entered diagnostic service mode. Persistent alarms are 4 and 25.Error 4 means Reset Monitor, while Error 25 means Pressure Sensor Dropout. I...

Loud noise when washer was in a drain cycle Robert G. • Clayton , NC • January 03, 2016
There was a loud noise from my washer during the drain cycle. (The washer seemed to drain just fine.) It was pretty easy to determine that the noise was coming from the drain pump. (Which for my washer is behind the front lower inspection panel on the right side front.) I inspected the outside of the pump for any physical damage and verified no issues with the pump or the mounts. Everything seemed ok. I then checked the drain pump filter(You will need something to catch water if you do...

Saved $$$ doing it myself Bob C. • Sacremento , CA • June 12, 2014
I have a 12 year old Kenmore Elite washer. One day, suddenly, I heard a grinding noise and the washer abruptly stopped. I called a repair service and was told it could be the bearings in the drum of this front-load washer, or it could be the washer's drain pump, which automatically shuts down when the drain pump fails. The repairman said, if it is the drum, it wasn't worth fixing for the age of this washer. It would cost $85 for him to come out and diagnose the problem, then if I decide to fix...

My front loading washing machine would not drain. Meryl L. • Fort Thomas , AZ • October 26, 2020
So, Saturday, the washer wouldn't drain, yes, I tried the Drain/Spin cycle. So I took the clothes out, rinsed them out twice in the laundry sink and dried them. After a quick Google search, I came to the conclusion that the pump was bad and ordered a pump, $125.
Over the course of the next four days, expecting the new pump on Thursday, I baled out the washer, pulled it out from the wall and propped up the front (it's HEAVY), removed the front access panel, removed the drain inlet and outlet...

LG front load washer door gasket needed replacement due to mold buildup Howard F. • Port Orange , FL • April 15, 2020
If you have an older model WM8000H_A you MUST pay attention to the type of door gasket (boot seal) that it uses. Every video I could find for replacing the seal on the WM8000HWA involved a different product than what was required for our specific washer. I wound up getting the wrong one by ordering it without help and had to exchange it - after I had the machine taken apart. Thanks to AppliancePartsPros I got the correct seal and front retaining ring the next day.
NOTE! The retaining rings are...

The pump on my washing machine went bad William P. • El Paso , TX • April 26, 2014
It was a relatively easy fix. Removed the small access panel at the back of the washing machine after unplugging the unit. The pump is right there. Disconnected the two hoses to the pump, catching some water with towels. Removed three retaining screws, then realized I had not disconnected the belt from under the unit. Easy fix, tilted the unit and disconnected the belt. Put in the new pump , connected the hoses, then reconnected the belts. Works like new!
