Oven won't heat or stays at 100°? A weak igniter fails to light the gas. This gas range igniter typically takes 45 minutes to replace with basic tools.
On my Jenn-Air downdraft range, the oven stopped heating. The broiler still worked. So pulled the pan off the bottom so I could see and found the igniter wasn't glowing to start the gas. I had replaced the full electronic control panel using Appliance Parts Pros so knew they had the full breakdown of parts for my model. I found the igniter and ordered. But frankly, I wasn't sure about doing the repair myself. It looked easy enough from videos and discussions here. Still, dealing with the... Read more
Mice nesting in your oven? Replace damaged insulation wrap to restore heat retention and cooking performance. Wraps around oven cavity. DIY-friendly.
Took the stove apart*, saw where the mouse had made a nest. It was kind of like a hotel room after a rock star had used it. It was nasty, is what I'm saying. I removed the insulation, which immediately went into a garbage bag and was placed outside, whereupon I took off and nuked the site from orbit. It was the only way to be sure (actually it was disposed of in the proper manner, no nukes were detonated in the course of this repair). Anyway, I ordered the insulation from this site, which was... Torx screw secures burner assemblies, igniters, and internal components in gas cooktops and ranges. Replace rusted, stripped, or broken screws.
I have tried to remove the burner assemblies by removing the torx screws but they were badly rusted, and unfortunately they all were broken during removal. I just discarded the ruined orifices and assembled the new orifices and burner assembly. Read more

Controls gas flow to surface burners on gas ranges and cooktops. Replace if valve is stuck, frozen, won't turn, or broken from wear over time.
If your gas burner won't light or sparks weakly, corroded igniter screws may be the cause. These mounting screws secure the igniter to the burner assembly.
Replaced old igniter. also purchased new screws for burner and igniter assembly since old screws were corroded from spilled food/fluids etc over the years. made the installation much easier. If you need to replace a worn igniter, do yourself a favor and go to hardware store and get matching replacement screws or buy new with igniter. Now my front right burner lights every time with just a click or two. Very pleased. Read more
Heating element not working? This mounting screw securely fastens the heating element in place. A simple DIY repair that takes about 20 minutes to complete.
We ordered the part and one extra screw(which we didn't end up using). If possible take door off your oven for easy access and have lighting source to see well. Taking part out was easy. Putting back in was more difficult because you have to match up two layers of parts in our oven. The broiler coil and the broiler shield above it. We used small craft clothes pins to keep wires from going behind the built in oven. We used a small diameter screw driver to match up holes before putting... Read more

Oven displaying error codes or baking unevenly? The temperature sensor monitors cavity heat and signals the control. Moderate DIY repair in 30-45 minutes.
I replaced the sensor. Turn off power, be sure oven is cold Remove oven door (put in broil position, pull straight up, set door aside, carefully release tension on arms and gently park them against the door frame - do not let them smack into the steel or it will crack the ceramic coating) Remove oven rack Remove 2 screws holding sensor to back of oven cavity wall Gently pull leads forward to find connector, it is supposed to be able to be pulled out from the front. However, my connector got... Read more
Adjustable leveling leg that stabilizes and balances your range. Replace if cracked, broken, bent, or threads are stripped from wear or impact damage.
The problem was partly caused because the original legs were at full extension. The replacement legs were longer than the originals and were more secure at the needed length. One difficulty was that the threaded base plate where the legs screwed in had been damaged and had to be reshaped, I was able to reshape the sockets with some effort, to allow the legs to thread in, though one remained slightly angled. (A metal tool of some type which could be threaded in and used to bend the socket area... Read more
