Get your dryer spinning smoothly again - install the Whirlpool 341241 OEM Drum Belt in minutes.
Unpluged dryer first. Then took the lint filter out and removed the two philips screws inside the lint filter lid. Then take a paint scraper just under the top of the dryer two inches from the left front corner and pushed in a little to release the snap connector and did the same on the right side. Then lifted top over. Then take a 5/16 socket or nut driver and remove the two screws on on the left inside panel, then the right side. Lean front out a little and remove the two wires one the back... Read more
Dryer won't heat or flame shuts off after 15 seconds? Gas valve coils control gas flow to the burner. Takes about 30 minutes to replace both coils.
I'm starting with a quick background on my dryer. About 18 months ago the belt on the dryer started slipping and squealing. I had a can of belt dressing spray so I popped the top open and sprayed the belt. It actually worked for about a year before it started squealing again. For the next 6 months I had to spray it more and more often. Then the clothes stopped drying. Obviously, at this point, I had to get off my lazy ass and fix the dryer. Searched my dryer's model number on the internet and... Read more
Dryer won't heat or flame goes out after ignition? The flame sensor monitors burner flame presence. Common DIY fix with multimeter testing required.
I used Fixya as an initial source describing my problem. I got two responses which were very helpful. One that the "coils" were probably the problem. Two, that the problem could be the thermostat or a thermistor in the dryer. I verified that AC was coming from the timing control, that both the two terminal and three terminal coils, the igniter and shut off thermostat all had continuity. I then applied AC directly to the coils: the two terminal coil ""clanked" and I interpreted that as the coil... Read more

I posted the following on the Facebook page ; SOoooo my 10 year old clothes dryer stopped and like almost everyone else I just figured it's shot, burned up, gotta get a new one. Well, due to a few bumps in the road I cannot afford another problem. My 2 vehicles are not running and with one being in the shop for 3 weeks and not being able to afford a rental car anymore this dryer was another headache. It sat for weeks and laundry started piling up. While looking online for sales somehow I... Read more
Dryer making loud rattling noise or not drying? A broken blower wheel is often the cause. Easy 30-minute DIY fix—just remove front panel and housing.
I removed the front panel of the dryer and the metal cover over the blower wheel. Removed the lock ring and clamp. Removed the old wheel and placed the new wheel on the shaft. I thoroughly cleaned all the lint around the area and inside the front cover. I resealed the metal cover over the blower and reinstalled the front cover. Dryer works great. Easy fix, I spent more time thoroughly cleaning all the lint. Read more
Secures the blower wheel to the motor shaft in your dryer. Replace if worn, corroded, or causing wobbling and noise. Confirm fit with your model number.
Our Maytag gas clothes dryer was not drying like it should/used to and was making a lot of noise. After researching online I figured the vent was partially blocked and/or the blower wheel was bad. When I took it apart, the vent had very little lint in the lower elbow exiting the back of the dryer but the blower wheel was loose on the shaft and was missing the clamp. I cleaned out the vent and put a hose clamp on the blower wheel to tighten it to the shaft and tried it again. The noise was... Read more
Traps lint and debris during drying to prevent vent clogs and maintain airflow. Replace when damaged, torn, or has holes. Verify fit with your model.
The root cause was the front glides. They were virtually gone, and the drum was on metal to metal. So I replaced them with a front glide kit. I also replaced the belt, rear rollers, and lint screen. I am happy to say all the parts fit perfectly, and I couldn't find a better price anywhere else. I will definitely keep you on file for the next time I need appliance parts! Thank you! Dryer won't start or stops mid-cycle? A failed drive motor is often the cause. This part powers the drum rotation. DIY repair in 30-40 minutes.
I watched the video at your website. I unplugged the electric first. When I opened up the machine up, It was loaded with lint.I found the source was a hole in the vent tube outside the machine. I fixed that first . The lint had been sucked back into the machine. The first half hour was spent vacuuming out all the lint and then I could proceeded with the motor change. I followed the video exactly. I removed the screws at the two front corners, after lifting the top and controls and tying it... Read more
Replacement mounting screw for securing components and housings in place. Order a new screw if yours is stripped, missing, or damaged during repairs.
One day my wife went to bake something and the bake/broil buttons as well as #3, #9, and oven light ceased to work. Local repair guy came by and wanted to charge $500 to fix it....YEAH RIGHT! Did a little homework and found this website, spoke with knowledgable staff who pointed me in the right direction. Felt seal creates an airtight barrier between drum and bulkhead for efficient drying. Replace if worn, torn, or causing longer dry times and lint buildup.
I took the dryer apart.....first had to clean out all the lint here and there. Took the drum out, inspected the belt and back support wheels. They seemed to be fine. In the front the drum turns on two supports that have a Teflon glide. Those two glides had been worn off with their pad so metal was rubbing against metal. Went online to appliancepartspros.com and looked up on the schematic what parts I needed. I also had called around locally and the same parts cost twice as much....so I... Read more

Replacement screw that secures the handle to the oven door trim. Needed when original screw is stripped, rusted, lost, or damaged during handle replacement.
Overall the fix wasn't too hard. The challenge was putting the oven door back together and holding it together while trying to tighten the screws. Enlisted my wife's help to hold the door and at first the handle screws wouldn't tighten. My cordless screwdriver's battery was under-charged. Once I switched batteries I was able to tighten the screws. Seemed like I needed to push too hard (my wife freaked "not so hard you will strip them!") however pushing hard was what was needed. Both screws... Read more

Dryer not heating or blowing cold air? A failed igniter won't glow to light the gas burner. This 15-minute repair restores heat and drying performance.
When I pulled out the dryer from the wall, I could see dust/lint had accumulated everywhere and the vent system was compromised. I vacuumed up the dust/lint accumulation outside and then inside the vent system. I then opened the lower cabinet to clean and check its condition. I removed the water steamer bottle and its sub-assembly and then the drum. After cleaning and inspecting components — both visually and with a multi-meter I determined the problem was the appliance doing what it was... Read more
Dryer stopped tumbling? A worn motor pulley causes belt slippage and no drum rotation. Direct replacement part, typically takes 15-30 minutes to install.
I put the new motor pulley on and re-attached the belt. I watched a crap ton of YouTube videos and performed what the professionals did. I ate food before the repair so my body would perform as a top ranked athlete. I moved my body in multiple positions between sitting down and kneeling over. I used a soft towel for my knees when kneeling. I asked my wife to "hold this" while I attached the belt. I screamed, "Quit moving it!!!!! (The drum)," while I put the belt around the pulley. I left my... Read more
