Before buying a new ($1200) washer, I found the trouble shooting guide and decided to check if my problem was a simple fix or a complicated procedure... turns out it was the simple fix. Removing the agitator was the hardest part, it lifted straight up, but took some muscle and a belt for leverage. Then I had to remove one bolt, lift off the damaged part, and put the new part on with the one bolt. Done. Works perfectly. Read more

Bought the replacement dispenser from APPros.com (of course). The video shows a front control panel, and our dishwasher has the 'hidden' control panel on the top of the door. So here's the difference: 1) You need to take out all the screws, except the two near the latch at the top. First replaced the latch, spring, and lever, but no improvement. Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. Planning to spend hundreds on a new washer and was pleased to discover the agitator coupling was the only thing wrong. Very easy repair. The only additional feature we would have liked was a softener dispenser. Located a GE model of the same genre that used the same coupler and took the leap to get the agitator and dispenser cup for this model (WJRR4170). Replaced the old agitator with new one and dispenser cup. Worked perfectly! We now have a washer with dispenser that works great and saved... Read more

Disconnect the power to the fridge. First remove the control panel by removing the one screw underneath and then insert a screwdriver into the small square hole underneath in order to pull the lower left of the control panel towards you. You are pulling against a plastic clip and you need to pull fairly hard. Once the lower left clip is free the other three come unclipped fairly easily. Repair parts arrived super fast. Installed the new parts according to the supplied instructions. All went well. It took over 2 hours because the unit had to be removed after the water and power were disconnected and then the initial problem diagnosed (motor brushes worn beyond service limits). Removing the aluminum hub was ridiculous. this part should come with the rubber piece that is directly below it. removing that rubber piece is essential to the repair and is quite a battle to get off. To remove the aluminum hub ( no fasteners just a friction fit) I tried a 2 arm automotive wheel puller which pulled the arms through the aluminum with out budging the part. I finally resorted to using a Sawsall to cut a vertical slit into the hub down to the shaft so I could split it and get it... Read more

This part came next day. super fast. open door . remove screws on inside facing edge of door. this seperates door front and back halves. unplug electric from dispenser then remove 6 screws holding it to the inside of door. remove dispenser and install new one in reverse order. took 20 to 30 minutes on a small economy size GE dishwasher Read more

Purchase new agitator and pop it into place. This was truly one of the easiest repairs I've ever made. My fault, but the only problem I had was that I didn't realize that the agitator and the agitator cap were two separate parts. I ordered the agitator first, paid for shipping, then when it arrived, I realized I needed to also order the agitator cap.
