Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice maker stopped producing ice   William W. • Southampton , NJ • July 31, 2015

My first hour: I investigated first by pulling out refridgerator to see if the water line hose was kinked. I started under the kitchen sink where it begins, coming from faucet water supply. Then I followed it to the back of the fridge to see if anything looked odd. Next I went to the ice maker itself. I investigated the ice maker by removing the freezer food sliding tray and hanging tray, and then unscrewing the door off the slides. When I looked inside at the ice maker, I saw the tube where... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Jennair jjw9630cas double oven doors did not close all the way and the light would not go out   Wayne W. • East Longmeadow , MA • February 13, 2016

I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. It didn't look like a difficult fix so I ordered four new hinges and four new receptacles, which arrived quickly. I found a video on YouTube that showed how to replace the hinges and it... Read more

After reviewing the 'how to' video on AppliancePartsPros.com, I unplugged the refrigerator and removed the back cover to access the motor. I then unplugged the wiring and removed the bad motor. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Compressor would not turn back on after shutting down after thermostat reached proper temperature inside internal fan would run but not with cold air   Peter C. • Riverhead , NY • April 21, 2015

Thank you to everyone who entered comments, especially about the "Clicking" sounds when it was trying to turn on the compressor. I did not notice them at first, but then heard them and was confident that one of these parts (or both) had a problem. In my case, I have custom cabinets around the sides of the refrigerator and hardwood floors in the kitchen so I put down some cardboard when the rollers would need to go at an angle due to a center island in the way. (I would rather do this myself... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Freezing up with ice coming through the openings in the inside back panel   Barry B. • Gainsville , FL • March 16, 2015

Replaced the inside back panel which comes with a new fan. Seems the old fan had stopped working due to ice which burned it out. The drain tube was blocked and ice built up on the bottom plate. Using a basting tube from Walmart and hot water I thawed out the ice in the tube. The basting tube became much like a toilet plunger and cleared the line rapidly. Nothing else worked as fast. I then bought a one foot long piece of thin solid copper wire from Lowes and stripped the insulation off. I... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Icemaker causing solid blocks of ice to form in the bin and down the walls of the freezer   Lance B. • Gallatin , TN • April 10, 2017

The amount of water being dispensed into the ice cube tray was excessive, causing overflow of the tray. The water then ran into the collection bin and even down the side walls of the freezer creating a huge block of ice in the bin, and ice all over the lower shelves as well. The excessive build up of ice caused the cube tray to crack and also split the little silicone water grommet that connects to the water delivery tube which directs water into the cube tray. Look out for that little tube... Read more

Samsung refrrigerator. it started when the setting was on cubes but was putting out crushed ice. then months later the water refill was running down into the ice bucket causing a massive block of ice in the bucket. look closely at the first two or three cubes in the ice tray after they unload. mine were not dumping and staying in the tray. when the water refill kicked on it would overfill the tray (because of the leftover cubes remaining in the tray) and would run down into the ice bucket... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The handle on the refrigerator door was broken and needed to be replaced   Richard W. • Baltimore , MD • April 12, 2015

Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy. The most irritating part was figuring out what parts to order. The drawing of the refrigerator door (Drawing # 4) used to figure out what parts to order was not clear. I paid $8... Read more

The panel was frozen on if you pull on it it will break. Soaked up all the water removed the panel and took the fan blade off.
