Control unit/clock-timer is located at front of wall oven, so did not have to pull out oven to replace. The actual control unit replacement was easy - with circuit breaker/power shut off, remove panels to gain access, unplug old control unit, plug in new and replace panels, a total of 16 screws and less than 30 minutes time. The stove became real hot and smoke came from the back. The display read F10. We turned off the breaker. After reading up on the internet and in the manual I turned the oven on again. Sure enough, the broiler element turned on instead of the oven one. I turned off the power and took the back panel off. The burned up relay was super obvious. I discovered the burned out control panel on our Frigidaire Gallery ceramic top cook stove and ordered it via telephone after finding it on line.
