Seals the gap between drum and front panel to retain heat and reduce friction. Replace if worn, torn, or causing noise. Confirm fit with your model.
Our 19 year old Whirlpool dryer quit heating. After checking the thermal fuse, I found the ignitor electrically open. I bought an ignitor at a local store as there was a national holiday the next day and I did not want the dryer inoperative waiting several days for shipping. I can say AppliancePartsPros is MUCH cheaper for the identical Whirlpool genuine part. While changing the ignitor, I noticed there was an excessive amount of lint in the dryer, which was caused by worn drum seals. I ordered... Read more
Seals the agitator cap to prevent water leaks into the agitator assembly. Replace if you notice leaking during wash cycles. Verify fit with your model.
I had previously replaced the pump about 1 year ago. That was not the problem. Still leaked the same way - intermittently, but always in the center of the washer onto the floor. None of the hoses were leaking - no evidence of corrosion or water mineral residue at any of the hose fittings. So, it must have been something else. I studied the parts diagram for the washer tub assembly and concluded the source of the leak almost had to be the outer tub's Centerpost Gasket. It was really the... Read more
Creates a watertight seal between the washer door and tub to prevent leaks. Replace if you notice water leaking, tears, or mold buildup. Confirm fit by model.
Replaced pump. All components are accessible from the front of the machine. You have to remove two screws in the back that hold on the top cover, then slide the cover back. This will allow access to the screws that hold on the control panel. Remove the control panel (unplug cable), then remove the spring/wire that holds on the door bellows to the front panel (removing and installing that is the most difficult part of the job) and carefully remove the bellows from the front panel. Then remove... Read more
Flexible gasket sealing washer door to drum, preventing leaks during cycles. Replace when torn, leaking, or showing mold buildup. Confirm fit.
Fixed by replacing the washer door seal "Bellows". Once again AppliancePartsPros comes through with the right part at a great price. It took quite some time to install because putting the inside spring back on the bellow was difficult so I needed to remove the top and front door of the washer to get better access. A set of 3 or 4 plumbing clamps are highly recommended to get that spring back on (I went to the store and bought some). If you search YouTube about replacing the bellows on your... Read more
Filters debris from water entering your washer and seals the hose connection. Replace if water fills slowly or screens are clogged. Confirm fit by model.
As a Mechanic, I did the common sense approach: INITIAL OBSERVATIONS & CHECKS: - Unplug Machine & check inlet water hose connections for leaks and signs of hose failure; - Remove back panel & inspect for water presence at all hose connections, pump, bottom of basket (bottom center of basket where the main motor, shaft bearing, and tub seal is located), dispensers, bottom of wash basket, water injector area, look everywhere where there is a hose connection and where water flows... - Inspect... Prevents lint buildup and moisture escape between drum and front panel. Replace when cracked, flaking, or separated. Confirm fit with your model number.
Started my Maytag dryer (model LDE8200ACW) with a large load early Saturday morning and immediately heard a noticeable thumping noise as the drum turned. Opened the door and checked to make sure some of the laundry hadn’t wadded up and was causing the thumping. Restarted it but the thumping was still present. Did a google search for obvious possible causes for the symptoms but the only suggestion that made sense was to check and make sure the dryer wasn’t rocking on its feet. Checked and found... I looked up my model number on the site, and found my parts needed. J then watched a video from repair clinic on you tube. The video was sr sight forward, and made the repair easy. I have repaired washers and dryers for numerous people following the same process. Doing this has saved hundreds of dollars in labor charges. Read more

The O Ring is an OEM part for GE dryers, creating a tight seal in different components for efficient operation. This small part prevents air leaks that can impact drying performance, made from quality materials to withstand high temperatures and frequent use
Causes of a faulty O Ring in a dryer may stem from heat exposure, regular wear and tear, or chemical damage. This can result in reduced elasticity, cracks, or breaks, impacting the seal.
Symptoms of a bad O Ring in your dryer include:

Seals the rear drum opening to prevent air leaks and reduce noise. Replace if worn, frayed, or causing rattling sounds. Confirm fit with your model number.
After having replaced the drum support rollers twice in a roughly 3yr period, I realized something wasn't quite right, and indeed it wasn't. I had been ordering the wrong parts - I did use the online parts locator after checking, & double checking my model number. Apparently my older Whirlpool dryer has a somewhat ambiguous model number because the rollers that were shipped each time looked nothing like the originals. I realize that is not particularily uncommon - manufacturers often modify... Read more
Prevents water leaks around the washer door during cycles. Replace if torn, stretched, or causing musty odors. Verify fit with your model number.
Ordered and replaced bellow. It is important to supply the correct model number as my machine is a later model than the one used in the training video. The front panel is one piece, rather than two. Additionally, several of the fasteners were hex head screws, rather than torks. The Bellow is somewhat different having an opening for the light fixture. That said, the video was adequate to get the general idea of how to remove and replace the bellow. I found it very difficult to replace... Read more
Washer tub seal prevents water leaks between outer tub and inner basket. Replace if you notice leaking from below. Confirm fit with your model number.
This repair was performed on a Whirlpool Cabrio clothes washer Model # WTW5640XW0 which has the digital electronic controls rather than the older style timer, electro/mechanical controls. This washer was made in 2010. Simply having the diagnostic programs on this machine is wonderful and they work remarkably well and led me to the shifter/rpm sensor component straight away. It was a simple replacement by tipping the washer onto its front and accessing through the bottom. The machine was put... Read more
Prevents water from leaking into the transmission on direct-drive washers. Replace if you see water pooling under the machine or oil rings inside the cabinet.
First, DO NOT call Sears for parts, their call center knows nothing about the product. App-Pros are the best for help and the right parts. I figured to repair, replace all seals and any item that shows need to and all items that have to do with the spin that may be bad. Repair videos great help. I will start from the "bottom" up, the repairs were not done in this order, just a list of what I did and notes. Replaced-- motor drive coupling, (checked out transmission ok), thrust washer,... I tried to hire someone through Home Advisor and was given an initial estimate of 436.00!?! However, no one ever contacted me about repairing the dryer. The washer and dryer are about 12 or 13 years old, so me and the wife discussed going to look at the alternative.... Buying a new washer and dryer set. We had planned on going on Dec 10th. Replace your dryer's drum felt seal to stop air leaks, reduce noise, and prevent clothing stains. Fits between drum and bulkhead. Confirm fit with model.
After replacing thermal fuse once and having it fail a second time, I had to dig a little deeper to uncover the problem. I checked for blockage in the vent but everything was clear. I did, however, find that the drum had some up and down play in it. After closer inspection, I could see that the front drum seal was actually worn to the point that I could see a gap between the seal and the drum. I figured that the gap in the seal was letting air in and not letting sufficient air flow through the... Read more
Seals washer door to prevent water leaks during wash cycles. Replace if torn, cracked, or moldy. Confirm fit with your model number before ordering.
The instructions that came with the parts did not match the project I was doing, so those were not helpful. I looked up videos on YouTube and those all made it look way easier than it actually was. From what I could tell at that point, I wouldn't need to dismantle anything. I would simply be able to remove the gasket and put the new one in its place. I followed YouTube instructions and got the old one off, and got the back of the new one on. Trying to get the spring ring around it was an... Read more
