Questions & Answers

For Bosch Circulation Motor And Heater Assembly (Part Number: OEM17406036)

1 Answer

Hello Theron, As per the manufacturer: Check continuity between the heating element (r1) and power module harness connector. Measure heating element (r1) resistance, which should be ˜ 5O between terminals 1-2 & 2-3 and ˜ 10O between terminals 1-3 @ room temp. If not, replace the heat pump. If so, replace the power module.

Does this part regulate the water temperature? After running and almost complete cycle, the washer stops with about 7-10 minutes left and displays the E11 code. When I open the door, it is obvious the water was not at a high enough temperature to fully clean and sanitize. I know E11 indicates a bad thermistor which is built in to the circulation motor/heater assembly, but am wondering if replacing this part will address the water temp problem.

1 Answer

Kristin, You can test the components of that assembly.Heater should have a resistence of about 11 ohms, thermister should read around 55K ohms at room temp of 72. Hi limit should be less than 1 ohm. If all these test good then a main control would most likely be your issue. If any readings are not correct then replace the heater assembly.

Hello Andrew, This can be caused by a door switch not making all of the time. If the unit is not secured under the countertop and properly leveled, this can cause this. It can also be caused by a poor electrical connection.

Dishes do not clean anymore, but this happens in the lower compartment only. Everything cleans ok in the upper compartment. All filters inside are clean, we did not change the detergent brand. It is a 6 year old machine, no problems so far. I noticed the inferior spray arm is not turning (placed a white band mark in one arm, ran the washer for some minutes, arm was in the same place). Upper arm tuns fine, which seems to be consistent with cleaning the upper part only. Nothing is clogged in the spray arms. Inferior arm runs freely when turned by hand. We also noticed the detergent plastic does not dissolve normally, we find it almost intact inside the front recess of the upper drawer. Running hot water from the tap first did not help. Technician told us over the phone: "it is the pump", we must change it, US$ 500 estimate. Please help, thanks.

1 Answer

Carlos, it sounds more like the diverter assembly is not directing the water to the upper and lower spray arms properly. The part number for the diverter assembly is 00751950. If there is water being pumped to the upper spray arm, your pump is working.

Al, it would be recommended that the base pan is cleared of water and that the base pan is observed during a cycle to isolate the location of the leak. This will allow the confirmation as to whether the circulation motor is leaking.

Debbie, there is a check valve 00611320 in the drain pump section that can fail and let water back into the sump assembly that can cause this issue. You may want to check to ensure that no water is getting back into the unit. From there, you may want to check the drain line to ensure that there are no partial clogs. From there, you may also want to check the drain pump cover and the turbidity sensor 00611323 to make sure that the drain cover is secured fully and the sensor is not congested with residues. If this checks good and the dishwasher was filling properly with water, then you may want to test the circulation pump. The circulation pump has a 3 pin connector that can be tested from pin 1 to pin 2, pin 2 to pin 3, and pin 1 to pin 3 for a resistance reading of 14.7 ohms each. If the resistance reading is not 14.7 ohms, then the circulation pump 12008381 has failed.

Wes for Model Number SHX68T55UC/02

I'm confused. I think that my impeller is messed up on my Bosch dishwasher. My filters are clean and I have good water source with good pressure, but the dishes don't get clean, like; a coffee cup will be clean, but it will still have coffee film around the inside of the cup. Or, if there is peanut butter on any of the dishes, it will not only, not get clean, it will transfer that peanut butter film to other dishes. This dishwasher never has got the dishes clean since new. I am suspecting the impeller, but do you have any other ideas? I was chatting with Shawn about the pump being one unit, as I am not able to replace the impeller separately, but the pump is called a "Heat Pump". Is this "Heat Pump" the Main Pump that sends pressure to the wands and cleans the dishes?

1 Answer

Wes, the heat pump is the main pump and is responsible for sending the water through the wash arms. You may want to check to ensure that the dishwasher water line is installed on the hot water line and that the hot water is primed through the sink by running the hot water for a couple of minutes. If this is not done, then the dishwasher tries to heat cold water which does not wash as well as when it directly receives hot water initially.

John H. for Model Number SHP65T55UC/02

Had an independent repair tech look at our Bosch dishwasher and told my wife the "motor" was failing and it wasn't worth the cost to replace. I wasn't there so didn't get more details. My guess is that he was referring to a recirculating pump perhaps also known as a heat pump in our model SHP65T55UC/02. The unit is making a moaning noise in various parts of the cycle and seems to be consistent with such a failure or inevitable failure. He said the part would run around $200 (I'm sure that included his markup). I'm fairly handy and would endeavor to replace it if I can narrow the issue down.

1 Answer

Hello John, The heat pump 00753351 is also the circulating pump in this model. You should make sure there is no foreign debris in the pump before changing it. I do this by accessing the impeller section of the pump and using a wet vac to draw out any debris in the area. The Bosch dishwasher has crimp on hose clamps which require a special tool to crimp and cannot all be replaced with standard hose clamps due to lack of room.
