The new gasket arrived in a box half the size of the gasket so the gasket was folded to fit into the box. I hung the new gasket up for a couple of hours and then just prior to installation used a hair dryer as per included instructions to soften the gasket and minimize minor wrinkles in the gasket. The old gasket came out easily and the new went in easily. A 5 minute job in total. Read more

The previous tenant in my daughter's new apartment apparently had a grease fire of sorts in the GE XL44 gas oven. This left the insulating double glass panes so fouled up that one could not see into the oven. The gasket on my freezer door was not holding the door closes. When the main door closed, the pressure which shifts to the freezer was popping the door open and it was not closing because the magnet had lost its' mojo. First tried replacing the seal around the door as that was the simple and most logical fix. Still leaked. Removed the front and upper panel to inspect. Found calcium deposit running down from under the Air Vent Assembly and wet behind the black stick-on insulation. Easy to trace the leak to the bottom of the door. => Ordered new Air Vent Assembly, gasket and Vent Deflector. Parts arrived. Took 5 minutes to remove upper panel. These gaskets (seals) are friction held in a groove and just pull out by hand. The new ones simply can be pushed back into the groove by using your fingers to go around and work them in. Pull a corner of the old one out and push it back in to see how the fit. The gaskets need warming and softening with a hair dryer to straighten after arrival for correct shape, better fit, workability, and to regain their shape, but this is a simple job. The homeowner kept getting AE flood code on a 2 yr old LG dishwasher. Removed existing gasket and replaced with new gasket in less than 5 minutes. Very Easy. Make sure to remove the lower burner cover (inside the oven) which allows you to pull the end gasket material through the two circular openings in the frame. Read more

Followed directions on video, worked as advertised. The only trouble I had (if you can call it that) was with removing the door. I have a freezer on top not side by side. Its easier to take the door off a side by side. When doing one like mine it can be done with one person but it's nice to have an extra set of hands to hold the door in place when removing the bracket which is on the bottom, You can take the freezer door off if you want and work your way down to the fridge door but I didn't... All parts arrived in one box - I purchased the tub gasket, lower door gasket and lower door seal. My existing parts were visibly pretty worn out, dishwasher is 12 years old (maybe should have just bought anew one?). Tub gasket was pretty easy, it took me a while to make sure it was even all the way around, after attest run and the subsequent drying heat it fits nicely. Disassembled and confirmed the clutch was bad. Also noticed a slight leak from the transmission shaft seal. Ordered replacement clutch, seal and oil from appliancepartspros.com.
