A cast hairpin assembly that secures the cooktop grate on select GE ranges, restoring a stable grate for safer, more consistent cooking. Installs quickly to replace a worn or damaged grate retainer. What it does:
- Secures and holds the cooktop grate in place to prevent shifting or wobbling during use.
- Restores proper grate seating so cookware sits level and stable.
- Common replacement when the grate feels loose, shifts while cooking, or will not seat correctly.
- Cast construction resists wear from regular use and heat exposure near burners.
What's included: One Grate Cast Hairpin Assembly. Install notes:
- Ensure the range is off and the cooktop is cool before starting work.
- Remove the grate and inspect the retainer area; position the new hairpin and seat the grate.
- Basic hand tools may be helpful; most replacements are straightforward but avoid forcing parts.

Abused stovetop. Kate K. • Sterling , VA • April 04, 2020
The previous owners of my condo were not the cleanest or gentlest of people.
The cast iron grates that cover my gas burners were scratched and dented. Huge chunks were missing from them. I mean, how does that even happen?!
The drip trays below the burners looked like they had been through the war. No amount of scrubbing and buffing could make them look new again.
So I gave up! And bought new! My stove looks awesome! And the prices I got here were the best!
