I could not find specific online instructions for this job. Here are some tips.
1. Unplug the washer.
2. Unscrew the dial on the broken timer.
3. Gently pry up the thin plastic place-indicator plate (the thing with the arrow under the dial) with two flathead screwdrivers.
4. Unscrew the two hex screws holding the old timer in place.
5. Unscrew the phillips-head screws holding the console in place and flip up the console.
6. Remove the electrical connector from the bad timer, and remove the bad...

Dryer timer would not turn and knob broke from the strain Bruce B. • Birmingham , AL • October 17, 2014
I ordered the timer and knob on Monday, they arrived around noon on Tuesday, and within an hour I had them installed and back in business. I was amazed how quickly the parts got here. The online video showing the procedure step by step was very helpful. Instead of disconnecting all the wires and having to keep up with which one went where, I moved each wire one by one and made sure I didn't get any of them in the wrong place. The only thing that slowed me down a bit was seeing which side of the...

Lights on washer are lit and will not turn off. Washer will not turn on Tommy L. • Hilton Head Island , SC • July 04, 2019
Remove the 2 screws that hold on the front cover just above the washer, the control board is in front of you. Remove the 2 small screws that secure the board, they are star screws, very small ones, do not drop them, for they will fall into the washer tub. Take a picture of the wiring harness, press the 2 tabs on each side of the board, left and right side, the board will pop out. replace the wiring harness, wiring harness has tabs that hold them in place. Also, check the magnetic lid switch,...

The timer had stopped advancing William S. • Arlington , TX • April 03, 2017
With a Phillips screw driver, on the back of the control panel there was about 6 or 7 screws to undo, to take the cover off and 2 screws holding the timer in place. Just undone those, took out old timer, made sure I took wires from old timer one at a time, and, put on new timer. Put everything back, although I had to find a couple of very small washers to make the timer fit tight, in the 2 holes it came out of. Luckily I had those or would of been a very loose timer. Very easy to do.

Washer timer failure Robert O. • Paducah , KY • May 27, 2016
Replaced the washer timer. I have been able to coax a bit more life out of these timers by using electrical cleaner and/or emery paper. Cleaning is only borrowing time though. I have replaced this same part three times now, but over a (roughly) 12 year period of time and nearly daily use. Not very difficult. I would rather keep fixing this older unit than pay a service tech big dollars to repair a newer unit. (Typical experiences of friends and family members.) I also clean and store the old...
